The Final One

Friday morning I had a nice wake up call by Johanne’s squeaky door. I wasn’t even upset about it. All I could think about was how much I’m going to miss her loud door lol. My flatmates and I had a nice time in the morning. I was definitely in denial. Johanne made breakfast burritos for us and we talked about chundering (specifically chunder dragons) lol. Toni told me that it’s impossible to call me a bitch, but it’s easy to say to Mina and Johanne lol. After a while we started talking about all the good times together in the kitchen, and the impending doom of cholera. It’s really sad that it was the last time we would randomly convene in the kitchen and talk about random things :( Toni, Mina, Jordan, and I walked Johanne to the central building. It was kind of like we were her bodyguards or something lol. But I was really sad to see her go. We all walked back to the flat as reality sank in and I realized that I had a shit ton to do… which made me feel even worse. Packing up my little room felt absolutely awful. It was so weird to see the room bare, like how it looked when I first moved in and to think of all the things that happened in those three short months. Mina cheered me up a little though, she was about the shower and said “I have a song for you!!!!!”… I totally called that it was going to be Teenage Dirtbag, but it really did make me smile. I love that Mina and I both love 90s punk, that good old music from back in the day when I was only 28 lol. When I had finally finished packing and organizing everything, I put together a little mother’s care package of useful random things like pencils, food, and tampons for my Bulgarians :) I left some of my presents with them for safekeeping since I couldn’t fit everything in my suitcases. I told them I’d be back for them soon :) Toni came with me to mail my package of books and shoes home. I nearly had a nervous breakdown at the post office. Thank god she came though, she literally kept me sane. I really love her so much. Back at Hillhead I was running around cleaning my sheets and seeing how everything was going with Bri. Seeing her room without a ton of clothes and stuff completely covering the floor was almost weirder than seeing mine empty. I gave all my sheets and blankets to the guys in case of some awful spewing or something along those lines… I’m sure they will come in handy even if they are pink and have hearts on them lol. When I was back in my kitchen in my flat for the last time I balled. I tried to cover it up by casually taking a cookie from the cookie drawer, but I just couldn’t stand seeing MY Bulgarians there and thinking of them moving on without me. Mina told me not to cry and that I will see them soon. They ended up walking me to the bus stop, where I met up with Kelsie, Bri, Zoe, Lindsay and the south house boys. Mina forgot her coat so she was shivering. I tried to warm her up like how Johanne does, but I definitely failed. At least I definitely made up my mind that I’m coming back over my spring break. The emotion overload at the bus stop was almost too much, though. In all the confusion, Greg nearly kissed me lol. He told Bri that the look of terror on my face was pretty amusing. The bus ride to town was extremely sad. It was nice to have a last glimpse of Seaton/rapey park, Kings College, RGpoo union, exodus, and that corner where Callum nearly puked. Moving the mass amount of luggage was kind of difficult, but we eventually made it to union square. I nearly died when I realized that I had forgotten to pre-buy a bus ticket. It really isn’t like me to be unorganized, but somehow I didn’t even think of it. Waiting in the line to get on the bus was kind of stressful and awful. It just really sucked thinking that this was the end. Martyn showed up a little late. He game Bri and me our birthday presents which was really sweet… I can’t get over how nice and thoughtful that was. Bri and I gave him a big hug… and cried on him a little too. Andrew literally ran all the way from the hospital to get to the bus station on time. When he got there, I hugged him and could hear how fast his heart was beating. After waiting around outside the bus, the time came for us all to say bye to OUR boys. It was absolutely beyond sad, but I made sure to give everyone extra hugs and kisses. I really do love them all so much :( I was the last to get on the bus, and I looked back at the six of them standing there… no words can describe how heart wrenching it was to leave them. However, as we were waving to them, Christian pulls out his famous belly button as a final farewell. Lots of cheering ensued lol. When the bus pulled away, I sat down with Zoe and wept. After a few minutes I opened Martyn’s present, and completely lost it… he really is the sweetest guy in the world. I immediately put on the “Made in Scotland” pin and cuddled my Nala stuffed animal. I’ve never openly sobbed before, but at that moment I really didn’t care one bit. Each and every one of those boys are amazing and I’m beyond lucky to have them as friends. After a while we all calmed down, and then Bri turns to me and asks me if I turned in my keys. The look on my face was priceless, apparently. I can’t believe that I forgot to turn in my keys, too! That is just further proof that I was a complete mess. Kelsie said that she would turn my keys in for me, so she reaches into the pocket of my coat in the overhead rack (as I scream “NOT THE COOKIE POCKET!”) and she grabs the cookie from earlier that I completely forgot about lol. The look of shock and slight alarm on her face was perfect. After a ton of laughing and properly retrieving my keys, we settle down again. A few minutes pass and then Kelsie said “Lydia, why is there a cookie in your pocket?” lol and we all started laughing again. We then talked about the winter fair in Edinburgh and the possibility of ice skating. After a while, it didn’t even feel like we were leaving Aberdeen… more like the five of us were just going on a fun trip together. We had to change buses in Dundee, and now I know why they call it Scumdee lol. The bus to Edinburgh was pretty fun after a while, actually. The ridiculous amount of luggage between the five of us was extremely comical to move lol. We were all basically buried under a huge amount of bags… the situation was even worse when some sexy guy walked passed us and kind of stared. We began the journey from the bus station with the intent of walking to the hostel but after about half a block, that definitely was NOT going to happen. So we find a taxi to take us, and as the old taxi driver was loading Bri’s and my large suitcases into the taxi he said “oh my, you brought your boyfriends with you!” lol. The taxi ride was hilarious since we were packed to the gills with  ours stuff around us, but the ride was really nice. The city looked beautiful at night with all the Christmas lights set up and the fair lights on too. Unloading at the hostel was a complete disaster. When we finally move everything into the lobby, everything kind of topples over on Kelsie, who was practically strangled. Some short, fat, drunk Scottish man, who was laughing watching with a group of friends, started to strip down Baywatch-style to a mankini (the boxers stayed on… thankfully) and rushes over to help Kelsie up, even though we had unburied her. He kissed her hand, and as he slowly walked away he comments on how he shaved his back earlier that day… really it was quite strange but really funny lol. After we get into our room, we unpacked a little and talked about what we should do. We walked to the fair and took some pictures. The German part of the fair was pretty cool. There were all sorts of neat little craft type things. The ice skating rink was closed, unfortunately, so we decided to go on the big ferris wheel. Zoe was kind of spazing out, but we made her ride with us lol. It was kind of scary at the way top, but the view of the city was so beautiful I didn’t notice too much… until one of the guys running the ride noticed how Zoe had her eyes squeezed shut and decided to pick on us. He rocked our seats and stopped us at the way top. The pictures I have of us at the top, the fear mixed with the cold, are pretty funny though. When we got off the ride, after glaring at that guy, we go to Pizza Hut for our last Friday date night. We had the nicest waiter EVER serve us… it was just slightly unfortunate that he basically overheard everything we said about him lol. After a while we all started to get really sad, though. At some point my mind was so preoccupied with thinking about leaving the next day, I couldn’t form coherent sentences. Kelsie told me “you’re words aren’t working tonight” lol. At least I wasn’t as bad as Bri’s yoda-talk. It really didn’t help our moods when the sad Christmas music played. We left Pizza Hut, and after some confused walking around the city, we got to Biddy Mulligans. It was super packed and crazy in there. We found a table, but like 10 minutes after we got there Lindsay spilled Kelsie’s pint. A bunch of songs played that reminded us of the boys and we all took to dancing like them. It was funny to think about which move goes with which guy. But each of them do have their signature moves lol. Zoe dances Andrew’s the best, and I totally have Martyn’s Tom Jones dance down to a science lol. But basically we all came to the conclusion that we missed the boys a TON and wanted to be back at union, so we left Biddys early. We walked back to the hostel, craftily dodging drunk people and talking about the constant 2m radius to keep from homeless people. Back at the hostel Bri went online for a few minutes so we all stayed down in the lobby with her. But we pretty quickly and spastically (shaking Lindsay’s coat) got into the elevator and back to our room lol. We really are crazy people, but I seriously wouldn’t have it any other way. Even though two random people were sleeping in our room, we sat up together for a long time and just enjoyed being together and happy. We talked about all sorts of things and we all looked through the scrapbooks lol. We laughed a lot and were pretty loud considering the other people in the room, but who cares. It was a really fun last night together. I really wished we would have been back in Aberdeen with the boys, especially after getting some texts about the craziness they were reeking in their flat lol. But I was so happy to have Kelsie, Zoe, and Lindsay there with Bri and me. It really made that last night a hell of a lot less depressing than it would have been. Also, I was beyond happy to have my cat sized Nala to sleep with… :)

Waking up after two-ish hours of sleep really sucked. I already felt completely numb from the thought of leaving Kelsie, Zoe, Bri, and Lindsay. Somehow it didn’t feel completely real, though. My mind was trying to keep me believing that we were having some adventures together. That was easy enough to believe on the taxi ride to the airport, and even when we were sitting eating some breakfast at the airport. When I was checking in, the number of American students in the line really pissed me off. Hearing the American accent so loudly in one place was annoying and wrong sounding. They were just all over the place yammering on about everything they did and all the places they saw. All I could do to keep from screaming was think to myself, they didn’t make friends like I did. The five of us sat in a little circle together near a cafĂ© for a while, and I was extremely thankful that we had that time together. To cheer ourselves up, we re-enacted the dances the guys do and talked about some funny memories. But I could tell that we were all emotionally hollow. Seriously we just couldn’t accept that our group was about to be broken apart. We talked about being back together again over Bri’s and my spring break. And then the time came for my to say goodbye to Zoe, Kelsie, Bri, and Lindsay… I honestly can’t write how sad that was. There are no words to convey that amount of sadness. I hugged everyone and said how much I love them all. There was lots and lots and lots of crying, to say the least. At Kelsie’s request I did the monkey face… and to my complete surprise Kelsie made a total monkey face, too! I am so proud of her :) The five of us then had an epic group hug, the kind where you hold each other and can feel the huge amount of love. As I walked through the corridor to security, I looked back at them, unabashedly crying and waving, and made the monkey face one last time.

Leaving Scotland was one of the most emotionally wrenching experiences I could imagine. I felt like a robot walking through the airport, clutching Nala as Adele’s “Set Fire to the Rain” played in the background. But somehow my feet moved forward and I boarded a plane to New Jersey. The time I spent in Aberdeen has been the best adventure of my life. I’m still confused by how I got so lucky… Never in my life did I dream that I would be so accepted and loved by a group of different people in only three months. Who knew feelings this strong were possible to have after such a short period of time? I’ve never felt closer to a group of friends before and now they are like my family. I know that when we see each other in the future it will be as though nothing has changed. I have no doubt that this will be the case… the friends you make in university are your friends for life. And until I see them again I will be loving and missing them all. Remember, you’re in my heart. Always.

The Last Supper/Family Christmas

I pretty much didn’t sleep at all Wednesday night, so I was not feeling too chipper for lab the next day. Especially since I hadn’t heard if Christian made it back from town or not. But my lab partners are really awesome, so they made lab pretty fun like usual lol. I’m actually really going to miss them, too. It’s just really nice to feel so accepted, especially in lab when tension runs high. After lab I had so much stuff to do, like turning in essays, turning in my chemistry exams, and finishing my lab report. At least Bri texted me back saying that Christian made it home around 6am. When I finally got all that done, I went home and kind of just sat there. I talked with Kelsie on facebook and that lead to a lot of frustration and tears. At one point, I actually screamed really loudly and completely freaked out the Bulgarians lol. They were convinced that I found a body under my bed. Mina then told me that I have the perfect horror movie scream and I should be an actress lol. After lots of venting and asking Mina about our lasagna last supper, I started to work more on my Christmas cards and presents. I seriously slaved on those cards forever, but I wanted to make sure that each of them were special, since everyone here is so special to me. When I finally finished them, I helped Mina in the kitchen with our last supper. She gave me some really good advice, after I told her my one story. And then I ended up telling my story two more times, since I had to keep explaining why I screamed like a crazy person lol. But Lola came over for dinner which was really nice. It made out last supper extra special. After a while Bart and Ross showed up, too. It was really sweet of them all to come over to hang out with me for a little bit and say bye. We had a really good time with our vodka and wine in the kitchen. Johanne got her “computee” to show me this one animated video of her first ever crush… we had just finished saying how we all had a crush on peter pan lol. Then Bart shows us a youtube video of a Brazilian lap dance. All I can say is don’t ever look it up, it’s kind of weird. Bart and Lola gave me a little going away present, which was really sweet of them. I gave out my Christmas cards and pretty much made everyone feel like crying lol. It was really sad to say goodbye to them all before heading over to South House. I don’t like thinking that things will never be the same for all of us. It’s just down right depressing. I then went over to South House with my presents and cards. It was really Christmasy in the flat, and I loved the music that James and Kelsie were playing. The classic Christmas music is the best, although I do love Cliff. So many things happened during our Christmas celebration, after more people arrived. It was really nice sitting in the kitchen and looking at how pretty the tree was with all the presents under it. When Catherine, Greg, and Bri get back, everyone ordered Chinese for our Christmas dinner lol. There was so much food, it was kind of ridiculous, but I really enjoyed eating it too. Greg and I shared a seat, and he was really nice with letting my scoop some rice onto the prawn crisps. Then Eddie (in his altar ego of Dreddie lol) and Alistair bass player showed up. While I was sitting with Greg, we had more drunk banter about asses and sex. We seriously have bro chats, so what else would bros talk about? Everything was going swimmingly and then out of nowhere Kelsie gets this random call from a number she doesn’t know. She answers and it seriously takes forever to figure out who it is. All he said was something about saying goodbye to the Americans and how he was going to miss us. Kelsie kept saying “aw ok, but who is this” but he just never answered. We thought maybe it was Andrew Irvine acting like his normal drunk self, so Ali bass player took the phone. But it wasn’t Andrew Irvine… it was the flower… and then for some reason, I end up having to talk with him. He was really sweet saying how he’s going to miss Bri and me, and that we have to stay in touch, but he really is the most awkward guy in the world. After that random call the night settled into its normal routine, with everyone saying how they are going to miss the Americans and that we really are lovely people. I asked Eddie to put the pictures from out going away party online, but I’m not sure if I ever really want to see all of those pictures lol. After Christian got home and everyone finished the majority of their Chinese food, we did out secret santa stuff. We waited until exactly midnight and then everyone exchanged presents. It was hilarious to see the presents that the boys gave to each other. Christian’s helicopter from Andrew was awesome, Martyn’s sex kit from Greg was hilarious, James’ horror/porn film from Martyn was kinda weird, and Andrew’s beer drinking hat seemed pretty useful. One of the best parts was how Greg could identify a bottle of lube by just shaking a box lol. I was super happy to FINALLY get those shoes from primark… even if I did see Kelsie pick them out :) After secret santa we played with everyone’s presents for a while. Christian’s helicopter was really fun to play with. Some things you really don’t grow too old for. When everyone started to leave and after a few goodbyes (three goodbyes to Eddie/Dreddie lol) a few of us stayed up in the kitchen. We listened to some more music and then Greg started to sing. I had the computer and he would specifically ask me to put on the youtube videos that showed the lyrics lol. It was so adorable when he sang “where are you Christmas” from the Grinch. I of course started to cry, but it was really sweet that Greg and Bri were beside me to give me a proper cuddle. It really cheered me up, especially when Greg told me to “just sob into the ginger hair” lol. Somehow it didn’t feel like the last night together. I thought some things would go kind of differently, but it really was a happy Christmas together with my family :)

So Many Surprises! :D

Saturday morning was pretty cool, for some reason my Bulgarians were up and being roudy kind of early. Then I heard Johanne’s super squeaky door and decided that I should join the party in the kitchen. When I got in there, everyone was asking what we should do for food, and I said “the real question is why are we up before 12”. We of course had a really great time talking about the night before. When Toni and Jordan said what happened to them, and then how they stumbled home only to need the help of poor Johanne (Mina and I were completely passed out drunk, Mina looking like a hamster lol). Johanne really had a tough time with them two apparently, I really wish I would have seen it! After talking about our respective evenings, the day really took a shocking turn for the worst. The internet at Hillhead was out and it was not long before hysteria set in at flat 289 lol. Mina really going crazy about only having two more episodes of a series left, and no Johanne around to give her more or internet. I tried to do some more work. While I was sitting, typing on my computer, my phone (like 6 inches from my face) starts vibrating really loudly because Zoe called. It took me about 10 minutes to restart my heart, stop yelling at Zoe for nearly killing me, and coherently understand that I was supposed to go to Bri’s flat lol. But omg when I got there it was SO WORTH the near death experience. Literally it was the best surprise EVER! Especially since I really wasn’t expecting it at all lol I screamed and kind of threw my purse across the room in excitement. It was AMAZE-BALLS. After getting all the details and hearing about their stories from the night before, I went to town with Bri, Kelsie, and Zoe (I love them!). We did some nice Christmas shopping at primark (where I got a new onesie!) and poundland lol. Then we had a nutritious dinner of MacDos. When we got back to Hillhead, I quickly got ready to go over and spend the evening at South House with everyone. Martyn had gotten a little Christmas tree and it was on the table in the kitchen lol. We ended up doing all sorts of Christmasy things, like hanging lights and listening to Christmas music. It was a very lazy night, but I think most of us were really trying hard not to think that this was the last Saturday that we would all be together. After Kelsie showed us literally the freakiest thing on facebook about a lip sync in the Philippines, I said we need to watch a Christmas movie to get that out of our heads lol. So we watched Elf on the internet. Since Bri had a lot of work to do, Greg was with us in the kitchen and acting like his usual loud self. Eddie was there too with Catherine, and at one point Greg and Eddie were making fun of my accent. They talked about going to the mall to shop and going to Florida on Spring Break lol. It was really funny. Greg asked me to teach him how to “talk American”. I just said “Spread your vowels and talk slowish” lol. He then made me some toasty bread in the oven, which was awesome considering I was beyond hungry. But, I love knowing how good of friends we’ve all become. Watching Elf was really great until the internet started acting up again. After a while we got really frustrated and kind of just gave up, so I went home. I put on my new Christmasy onesie and stayed up super late for like no apparent reason. Mina and Toni were acting like their usual crazy Bulgarian selves, but I think the lack of internet like all day really got to them lol. Mina saw my new onesie and said “aww Christmas Lydia”, as opposed to the normal “cat Lydia”, “princess Lydia”, and “birthday Lydia” lol. I have so many different alter egos. I was asking Mina and Toni all these different questions about baking, because I was putting together a little surprise for Mina. And I’m pretty sure they thought I was under the influence of some drug. There were in the hall being rowdy (Mina was desperate for more series), and every once in a while I would just stick my head out and ask them some really random questions, like do you know what a cup for measurements is and stuff like that lol. Their reactions were absolutely hilarious. After some more Christmas-type sneakness, I went to bed. I basically dreamt of the pancakes and gravy that I would have the next day.

Mina and Toni woke up really early in the morning (like 10:00) and got all the stuff together for our pancake breakfast, which would then feed into our pancake and gravy dinner lol. I sat in the kitchen with the two of them while Mina cooked. It was a lot of fun to hear them banter back and forth. Mina gave me the first pancake, and when I started to eat it all of a sudden there were two shocked Bulgarians yelling at me saying, “Lydia!! You don’t eat these pancakes the American way!!!”. Lol it was slightly alarming how strong they felt about this. After getting yelled at for eating pancakes the “wrong way”, Toni and Mina took over preparing my pancakes with the Greek cheese and honey the “correct (Bulgarian)” way lol. I kind of felt like a baby since they were just like tsking at me and laughing, but it was really funny to see their reactions. The pancakes (or I guess crepes, actually) were amazing. Toni and Mina were very pleased with themselves lol. Johanne trolled (I actually meant strolled, but I think this spelling mistake is a lot funnier considering how Johanne is in the mornings lol) in later and joined our happy pancake eating in the proper way. The rest of the day was devoted to my Arthur essay, basically. Researching and coherently stringing my thoughts together, since it was a comparative essay of how the figure of Arthur changed from the early sources to the French Romantic literature, was super time consuming which really sucked. But I discovered that Tchaikovsky’s ballets are EXTREMELY conducive to a focused work environment, so the number of plays of the Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, and Swan Lake soundtracks basically quadrupled on my iTunes. Before I knew it, I was eagerly watching Mina make our pancake and crepe dinner. I never noticed before, but I really watch her cook A LOT lol. It’s a good thing she thinks its funny. But I like helping her with everything and I want to learn to make the dishes she does, so it’s not like staring in a creepy way… or at least I hope not. But anyways, I had a really lovely dinner with my amazing flatmates :) then I basically stayed up the entire night doing all sorts of random work. I didn’t finally go to bed until about 6:30… but that may have been more due to my desire to finish Breaking Dawn than work on my essays lol. When I realized how late it was, I kind of just shrugged and said “ya… I’m not going to any of my lectures later today”.

Monday was a super boring day. Ugh around 1:30 I made a last minute decision to go to my Arthur class since I have an essay due for it… I basically just felt guilty not going and sleeping the entire day lol. So I dragged myself to the library for a little and then went to my lecture. After that I kind of ran around doing some errands for leaving. It still hasn’t hit me yet that I’ll be back in American in less than a week. Seriously I can’t even fathom the idea. While walking home, I decided to stop at lidl because I knew that we literally had NO food in my flat. We really are a bunch of pigs lol. But real women like to eat. And I really like knowing that we have a full and happy fridge lol so I kind of went crazy buying all sorts of groceries. Toni cooked some of the food for our dinner and that was tasty, as usual. Then I was up again until like 6am, but at least I finished my Arthur essay! Tchaikovsky really helped a lot with that one lol. I was super happy about finishing my essay… and then I remembered that I have another one to write. AND it’s for the worst class in the world. Damn Vikings! ruining my fun.

Tuesday I slept in until like 1:30 again… I was definitely on a strange sleeping pattern. While on this strange sleeping pattern, I pretty much came to the conclusion that there are ghosts in the flat above me who like to make a lot of noise around 5:30/6:00. Either ghosts or some way too keen asian students. Both are plausible conclusions lol. Since Tuesday is the day that I don’t go to my lectures ever, I edited my Arthur essay and did some other random things… basically I was just procrastinating Vikings! for as long as possible. It’s really scary how quick the day went by doing a whole lot of nothing, though. When I was napping (because apparently I don’t sleep enough during the daytime), Kelsie called me. After much confusion (mostly on my part), I was told to meet her and Bri at South house at 7:30 so we could meet Zoe and have our haggis dinner. Since we were just hanging out together, I didn’t bother showering our even eating since I was promised food. When I got to South House, the amount of red everyone was wearing was pretty fishy lol. Kelsie told me and Bri that she was dressed as an American, and that we were going to have to wear tartan scarves while we eat lol. All the guys randomly left to go lidl, and the three of us commented on how we love that they will just leave us there without any worries. So the Bri, Kelsie, and I waited in their kitchen until Zoe called and said everything was nicely set up for our dinner. We walked over to Bri’s flat, and Bri and I are “surprised” by our going away party. I kind of knew something was going on, but I definitely wasn’t expecting all the guys to be there, even Eddie and Andrew Irvine. I seriously have the best friends in the world. I still can’t get over how lucky I am. Andrew Irvine kicked off the night by already being super drunk and then kind of passing out-ish in Martyn’s lap with his hands around Martyn’s waist lol. Then Kelsie gave Bri and me our scrapbooks, which everyone had worked on and wrote notes in. I think that might have been the nicest thing a group of friends have ever done for me. My scrapbook is literally perfect. It’s so full of happy memories and hilarious pictures. The comments that everyone wrote to me were really sweet and it just shows me even more that I am the luckiest person in the world. If there was a fire, I came to the conclusion that my scrapbook would be one of the first things I grabbed. Something as heartfelt as that can’t ever be replaced. Lots of crying ensued, of course. I can’t even describe how much I’m going to miss everyone when I’m forced to leave. They really are an amazing group of people and I love each and every one of them. After all of that, lots of drinking and partying happened. Since I hadn’t really eaten any dinner, except for the dodgy looking hotdogs and crisps at the party, I got completely schwasted lol. Seriously I don’t remember anything, basically. If I had known it was a party I definitely would have eaten and showered… you know, things like that so I wouldn’t have acted so ridiculous lol. But I think everyone was in the mood to party hardy, so it really was a wonderful night. I love having my Scottish family :) We all just hung out in the kitchen and listened to good music, like One D and Show Me Your Genitails lol the classics. We even ate the vodka gummies from Halloween. That probably wasn’t the best idea, but they actually tasted pretty good. I told everyone how much I’m going to miss them and gave lots of hugs and kisses all around, apparently. At random points I would look at Bri and go over and hug her and we would say how lucky we are and how much we love Aberdeen. She wrote “I love Aberdeen” on my arm, starting all sorts of things to be written. Like “I love Lydia because she’s sexy” (I’m so creative lol) and Ali bass player drew an American flag on my other arm. Things kind of got out of control after a while. Lots and lots of pictures were taken, that I will hopefully see one day. I talked about all sorts of things with like Andrew, Martyn, and Ali bass player. I think I gave Andrew some Disney character names for renaming all the contacts in Catherine’s phone lol. He was looking for pokemon, but I don’t really know many pokemon so that was a bummer. He was pretty shocked at that lol. Later, we sang the American National Anthem and God Save the Queen lol. The amount of love in our small group is absolutely amazing. Seriously whether it’s a bromance, the love of a strong and lasting friendship, or THE love and affection between two people, it’s basically like magnified by 100 in our group. It’s really special. We held hands Girl Scout style and sang Old Langsyne together. Apparently I started really crying and walked into the middle of the circle and started hugging Bri, and then Kelsie came in and grabbed us both. And the best part of all is how the rest of the group kind of closed the circle around us and we ended up forming a huge rocking blob lol. Things got a lot less cute after that, especially when Cry Me A River played and we all danced and made fun of Zoe for her youtube video lol. I love her so much, though. Of course there were a ton of drunken antics. Some worse than others lol, but its really hilarious now to think about. I of course ended up chundering. Andrew was taking care of me for a little, which was really adorable and sweet lol. Apparently at one point we were sitting in the bathroom and I just had my head in my lap and we were holding hands… and then I spewed in the sink like a boss lol. Bri tied my hair back and Andrew dealt with the vom. Lol and then the night continued like that off and on with me spewing. Kelsie told me my absolute favorite thing to her say, “get on your knees for me, Lydia” lol. Kelsie tried to feed me pizza toast, but that definitely wasn’t happening. After a littile while, Kelsie, Bri, Zoe, and Andrew took me home. They tucked me in really nicely, I was told that it was really cute and funny later. They kissed my forehead and reminded me that they love me and I have Kelsie’s vegetable drawer to puke in lol. Then I was visited by my flatmates. Johanne is always on the ball for these things lol, we’ve had many experiences together like this. But apparently Mina was really proud of herself for actually helping this time. Generally, Mina and Toni are not in the right frame of mind to help me. They would start talking to me in Bulgarian and things like that lol. But it was a really amazing and special night. One I’m really sorry to not remember as much as I want.

Ugh around 6:00 I woke up and felt rougher than Sandshrew’s backside, as Zoe would say. It was really nice to have coke (courtesy of Mina) waiting for me in the morning lol. I definitely needed it. But apparently the lack of food in my stomach from the previous night was still plaguing me. Ugh. Johanne checked in on me as I spewed a little into Kelsie’s vegetable drawer lol. Everyone was all really worried because generally after a good night out, even if I’m super drunk, I NEVER puke in the morning. I just drink my pop and go on my merry way lol. But that was not the case on Wednesday morning. There was no way I was making it to my tutorial. Lindsay brought my scrapbook over and we talked a little about the mystery which was Tuesday night lol. She even went out and bought me more coke which was great. Ugh after laying in my bed for a while longer I remembered that I had a meeting with my tutor for freaking Vikings! so I speed shower at 12 and am out the door by 12:40. Lisa Wotherspoon is a crazy person, literally. I hate how apparently no one answers the questions completely so you get knocked down from a first class mark. Oh well. After my meeting I went to the Hub and found Kelsie and Bri. They told me some really crazy things that happened last night and all I have to say is WOW. I was beyond shocked and surprised lol. It really was an insane night. Bri and I then went to town to do some more Christmas shopping. That was a lot of fun, especially when we discovered the Disney store in this very well hidden shopping mall lol. We spent way too much time in there for two girls in their 20s, but whatever. It was such a happy and fun place lol. We did a little more shopping and then went to MacDos for a nice snack lol. While we were waiting for the bus we randomly bumped into Johanne who was also out doing Christmas shopping. We had a really nice bus ride back, talking about our various drunken antics and tropical showers lol. I nearly completely forgot about the 2500-3000 word essay that was due the next day. That was an unfortunate realization, ugh. But I listened to my Tchaikovsky and pretty much powered through that crap Vikings! essay like a champ. Literally I wrote it in less than 6 hours which is amazing for me lol. And it wasn’t that bad of an essay, actually so I’m pretty proud of myself. When I finished it I kind of had a little party with my flatmates and Ross in Toni’s room. We had a good time watching all the good random youtube videos and talking about Johanne’s little pity party the other day lol. Johanne made Mina stroke her eyebrow for like 10 minutes… it was super funny to watch since Mina was really feeling like a creep but Johanne was falling asleep. Some pretty awful pictures were taken by Toni, like usual. Then we started talking about our last supper for Thursday, which was really sad but also kind of funny since we said we would dress up like the Da Vinci painting and incorporate all these symbols into it. After some more craziness around the flat, I decided that I should start writing my Christmas cards. Those ended up taking WAY longer than I thought, so everyone better really appreciate them! They came straight from the heart :) But, around 4:00 I tried to go to bed. Sleeping definitely wasn’t happening… I was really thinking about you. After I finally fell asleep, Christian calls me and completely freaks me out. His phone was about to die and he was lost somewhere in town. I was so ready to go all AWOL and find him. It really was the biggest shock of my life, especially after having such a hard time falling asleep. It was definitely a day full of surprises.

Would You Rather...

Tuesday morning I woke up at the crack of noon with every intention of actually doing something productive. Basically I just ended up spending the day pouring over all sorts of chemistry problems and washing clothes... productive but lame. In the middle of all my concentration and science, I heard someone knock on the front door. Being too lazy to actually move, Mina ended up answering the door. This charity guy started talking to her about saving cats and dogs from natural disasters and giving them good homes. I listened as Mina chatted up this guy about loving animals and saying how she volunteered at the humane society lol. When he finally, I went to the hall and randomly everyone convened to talk about strange folk coming into our flats. While we were talking and laughing, the guy randomly opened our door and poked his head back in to explain how his organization is registered with the police... we decided to lock our front door after this episode lol. More chemistry work ensued, and due to a severe lack of food in the flat, I scrounged around and found some vegetables and made pasta for myself. It reminded me of what I used to make with my flatmates in Italy :) With my Siena-style dinner, I watched Mulan and sat around. After some well-earned Disney, I went to South House and spent the rest of the night cutting up paper to make snowflakes, and hanging paper chains. That was a lot of fun. I love Christmas decorations lol. Then, for some reason, Bri decided to start reading would you rathers to us. Some of them were pretty nasty, but others were really random and hilarious. Such as: would you rather be nocturnal but always have to wear a cowboy hat, or only be able to walk diagonally but be dressed as a bear. Tough question, I know lol. It was basically just a really crazy evening. Bri came to the conclusion that everyone had an extra dose of crack in the morning... Kelsie commented on how horses love nipples, Christian nearly died when Bri read about the deer vs Krepp street fight, and Eddie misread "cheese grater" as "chinese gator". I honestly don't remember the last time I had laughed so much in one night. It was ridiculous lol.

My 11:00 tutorial definitely came way too early. There was a time in my life when I used to complain about getting up for 8:00 classes... now getting up for 11:00 ones is difficult. My tutorial wasn't all that fantastic, but I met with my professor afterwards and that was pretty exciting. She was really impressed with my essay, saying that it was very enjoyable to read and I seem to really know how to properly write an essay. I was super happy about getting such a good mark on my first essay... until I realized that I'm going to have to actually try on my final one. Blarg. After my meeting, I caught up with Bri and we went to our Arcadia lunch together. That was alright, Hemish (the middle-aged, kind of dopey but really nice Scottish director of the program) is pretty nice and funny. It was just sad to think about packing and leaving already. It started snowing while we were eating, and Bri and I kind of freaked out lol. I just wish that it would have stayed! Bri and I walked back to South House together, and I hung out there with everyone for a little. It was exciting to see their daytime activities lol. I eventually went back to my flat and worked on some random things for my lab classes. After a while, all my flatmates were home and we sat in the kitchen and talked. It was really nice to chill with them lol. When our little pow-wow broke up, a pretty interesting conversation about squeaky doors ensued in the hallway lol. Johanne has the squeakiest door ever. I need to get some WD40 for that... or butter lol you know, whatever works. A little later, Zoe called me and said that everyone was going to order pizza over at South House, so I went over there and had a lot of fun hanging out with everyone. While we were eating, I drank a bunch of pop and kind of blew Greg and James away with my burping abilities lol. Kelsie, Bri, and Zoe think it's absolutely hilarious that I can burp like a semi-driver/bear. At one point during our lovely table talk, Bri said "guys, we're best friends... that's how you know" lol it was perfect :) We all sat in the kitchen talking about all sorts of things, like Nev's Jam Buster, Martyn lawyering people, and how I apparently say things wrong. Everyone really laughed at how I say "pop" and "Baroque". But hey, I can’t help that I spear Amurican lol. Kelsie mentioned going to dinner with everyone next week before we all leave. I said Brig o’ Don so I could eat some more of the sticky toffee pudding!! My amount of enthusiam over the dessert really showed because Kelsie told me to calm down and Martyn said “ya I’m pretty sure you had to change your pants after that” lol. After a little while, we all went to union. Lots of normal things happened, like Kelsie and me serenading Zoe to one D. Then at some point we started talking about Santa and Zoe said that she thought Santa was real until two years ago. You can just imagine how much heat she got for that lol. But I said some pretty stupid stuff as well. I don't think I've ever felt so dumb as when Kelsie, Zoe and I were talking about Kelsie's newest piercing. Greg said that it looks like a pierced banjo string. Then I said something stupid about other sorts of string instruments... I nearly died when I realized that this conversation did NOT involve musical instruments at all lol. Some other pretty entertaining things happened after that, too. Such as Andrew chugging a beer quicker than Eddie! It was another really good night in Hillhead :)

Lab the next day was very enjoyable… I really like having partners who actually talk with you. It’s the best to feel so sciency and be able to joke around. But I made a freaking BEAUTIFUL cobalt metal ligand product. My UV Vis spectrum showed the loveliest peak and consistent baseline. WAHOO :) My chemistry lecture after lab was beyond dull, though. The professor is really a sweet and funny dry-humored guy, but his lectures about metals really kills my attention. Vikings! Was absolutely awful… Stefan Brink mumbled a shit ton and showed lots of pictures of dick shaped “burial mounds” lol. The best part was definitely Bri tagging along. The funny but weird Scandinavian was so confused by the sight of a really tiny American in our lecture. It was completely mingin outside so us lazy people got the bus home… it’s kind of pathetic that we do that, especially since I love walking so much, but sometimes you need a break. Back in the ghetto I had some soup, put on my cat onesie, and worked on my chemistry “exams”. It’s a good thing that I didn’t actually have to sit an exam for those classes. One, I literally don’t remember anything (this blog is the only way I know what I’ve been doing, basically), and two, I can’t be arsed to actually study. There are way more fun things to do at Hillhead. Such as teach my Bulgarians how to properly make potatoes in the microwave, which is exactly what I did to procrastinate doing actual work lol. Mina said how she’s going to be taking all these new things home with her, like microwave potatoes and party showers. Ugh then, while I was in the kitchen with Mina and Toni, people (MINA) started talking about LEAVING (The COMPLETELY FORBIDDEN TOPIC) and she said how all these things will always remind her of me, like chemistry, cats, potatoes, gravy, flowers (lol), and princesses. Ugh I really don’t want to leave! But anyways, apparently Thursday was the Bulgarian student day back in Bulgaria, so you can just imagine how my Bulgarians were celebrating in the kitchen lol. So I stayed with them, chatting about all sorts of things. The best part of the night was definitely relooking at the pictures that Toni took from my birthday and seeing the really hilarious ones of us dancing at Exodus. There was nearly a nipple on facebook, but upon closer look we realized that it was a finger. PHEW. Then we started taking more pictures, and our lovely Johanne joined us after her nap, looking very spry and happy lol. Mina made so many promises about making a fabulous meal for us tomorrow, with pancakes and gravy and all sorts of things lol. Then, Johanne realized how everyone is from the 90s, except me of course lol. But apparently that’s a good thing, because sine I was born in the 50s, I got to party in the 70s lol. According to Mina, that’s the nice thing about being me… you can choose when you are born. My Bulgarians really do have a wonderful way of finishing a full 70cl bottle of Smirnoff vodka between the two of them. It’s really hilarious to see the aftermath. And since it was their student day they really got into it and went to town for the party. Those lucky ducks. I heard stories about when they got home and all I can say is, I’m sorry I missed it lol.

Getting up at 8am for Vikings! tutorial is absolutely awful… especially when you have to climb over a freaking tree that conveniently fell over the stairs down the hill in the foresty bit of rapey park. After Vikings! tutorial I went back home and took a nice 3 hour nap, before turning in my lab report and running around campus doing some things. While walking home, I realized that the moon was absolutely beautiful at 4:00pm. I seriously feel like you can always see the moon in Scotland in the winter. Even during the daytime (like 6 hours) you can see it. When I finally get back home, with high expectations about a wonderful pancake dinner, I find that both of my Bulgarians are very sleepy and hung over lol. The sadness I felt about the lack of wonderful food Mina cooks was definitely outweighed by their funny stories from the previous night. However, I still wrote a friendly (lol) reminder that Mina WILL cook for us on Sunday. Even after my shock and disappointment faded, Mina still felt like I was judging her. She basically couldn’t look at me until she was happily drunk again later that night lol, it was pretty funny :) Since it was my last Friday with my flatmates, and we have a tradition of going to town and acting extra crazy, I decided to make my facebook status one of the Bulgarian phrases that I love “I want to drink”, pronounced “es cum da peeah”. I had no idea how to spell that in the Bulgarian alphabet, so I asked Mina and got an official Bulgarian lesson lol.
Lots of drinking and shenanigans ensued, with my favorite vodka, coconut rum, and orange juice mixture that Toni makes. When Johanne got home it was all excitement, and after hanging out more in the flat, we headed to union for the Christmas party there. The party was actually really awesome. While I was doing my favorite booty-shaking and pop it, lock it, and drop it dance, I completely forget that we weren’t in town already lol. It was really fabulous since all the boys, Bri, Zoe, Kelsie, and Lindsay were there too :) I got a santa hat from the bar, saw Beautiful William the bartender, and was carried to and from the bathroom by Kelsie after some epic hugging :) that was absolutely perfect since people were giving us the oddest looks and we were just acting like crazy people. Then she plopped me down next to Christian who looks at me and asks, “are you drunk??” lol. Good times :) after some more booty shaking to some of my favorite ghetto music and accidentally dropping Bri, who was clinging to a bar stool to prevent me from making her dance, on Greg’s foot, my flatmates, Jordan and I headed to town. I seriously don’t remember the bus ride at all, except some girls tried to talk to us, and thought that Mina’s name was Panini. They were obviously wasted… and stupid lol. Somehow we got separated on the VERY short walk to Exodus from like RGpoo union, and Toni realized that she left her debit card at union bar somehow and Jordan dropped her passport somewhere. I was going to go back with them, but they made me go find Mina with Johanne. Mina somehow got into Exodus and was having a fabulous time dancing all alone… lol Johanne and I found her and had a really great time dancing with her and yelling at guys who got too grabby. We ended up leaving Exodus kind of early, and got into the taxi line. It amazes me each time how long the taxi line ALWAYS is… even when you leave the clubs early it’s still like 5 km long. But while we were standing in line freezing our ovaries off as Mina would say lol, the cutest traffic marshall kept talking with us. When he first walked by, some girl in front of us turned around and said “someone should take him home” lol. He looked at us and asked what we said about him. That definitely cheered us all up. Mina was acting absolutely ridiculous, so Johanne kind of cuddled her and said she couldn’t talk anymore lol. While we were waiting and chewing the gum the traffic marshal lave to us, it started to SNOW! It was so freaking pretty to see the snow really falling in big flakes! Johanne and I were beyond excited, but Mina kept looking up at it falling and saying “the snow is really pretty, but it always gets in my eyes” lol needless to say we laughed at her and basically said she was acting like a turkey that looks up at the rain and then drowns. The taxi ride home was absolutely ridiculous with Mina’s comments. We kept driving past all these scantily clad girls who were walking around barefoot or without a coat. Mina kept pointing at them and saying “hah, dumb bitches, they are going to freeze there ovaries and then they can’t have babies”… Johanne and I vigorously tested her theory, but she firmly defended herself with the idea that if you get too cold you can’t have kids. I said “if you’re that cool, you’re not going to have babies because you’re dead” lol. The taxi driver kept laughing at us and our talk about pregnancy scares and healthy ovaries versus frozen ones. When we got home, I was still really freaking cold from standing outside so long, I put on my nice long underwear (oxymoron) and then fell asleep lol.

BIRTHDAY :D

Thursday morning I woke up and I literally felt like a hippo was sitting on my chest. I really hate being sick, especially when you have that annoying cough that just won't go away. I always feel bad to Johanne since we share a wall and I literally spent half the night and morning hacking a lung up lol. I walked to lab with an  impending sense of doom, feeling really crappy. But lab always turns out a lot better than I expect. My lab partners are really good fun. We always talk about a lot of random things, like quotes from nerdy movies lol... "it's a trap" and "no ticket" were hot topics. I love how nerdy science people all love the same movies. So me and a couple of guys bonded over Indiana Jones and Star Wars. It ended up taking us literally forever to finish the lab, but it's whatever. After lab, I had to quickly finish a surprise tutorial.  Dennis, Kirstie, and I worked on it together so it wasn't too bad. When I got back to my flat I had a package from my mom. It was filled only with nine different birthday cards all from her with different names for me like "my christmas present" or "our hard worker" lol. It was really nice though. I can definitely tell that she misses me a lot. A little later that night I went to Bri's flat and hung out there while they got ready ready to go to union. We had a good time at union with the normal people. Before the guys got there, Bri, Kelsie, Lindsay, and I had a lot of fun talking about the boys lol. Greg is literally hilarious to talk about, he does that strangest things. And James is really sweet and funny. I'm going to miss them a lot. When the guys got there, some of them were pretty drunk. It was great to sit and watch them lol. they are beyond entertaining. Eddie, Alistair bass playes, and the other Andrew were talking about the different accents in the UK. How I remember it, it was something like:

"Seat yir din" Irish
"Please, sit down" The Queen's English lol
"Sit yer dooooooown" Welsh
"Eh sit dahwn" (hack hack lol) Liverpool type
"Aye, sit down you fucking cunt" Scottish lol

Greg was pretty drunk and we had a very interesting conversation lol. Even when he's completely sober he doesn't really have any boundaries, but when he's drunk he will really say anything that pops into his head lol. He is literally fascinated with the pop it, lock it, drop it lol and he came up with a new move to add "pop it, drop it, cock it, lock it". The next time we going dancing, I will have to incorporte that in somehow lol. I taught Greg about male sensitivity and the female psyche lol he said it was very informative. He was especially curious about how Scottish guys compare to North American lol and enjoyed hearing how mountain man-like my brother is. Apparently Greg wants to live in a log cabin and be a mountain man, too. Alistair bass player was extremely drunk, as well. His drunk face is literally hilarious, especially since he kept caressing his his upper lip and saying how much he missed his pedo mustache since Movember is over. He then continued to steal a poster and try to shove it up his shirt lol. Overall it was a really fun night, complete with lots of talk about inappropriate topics and deciding that Alistair bass player should drink with us more often lol. And I showed my tattoo to everyone :)

At an ungodly hour Friday morning I had my Vikings! tutorial with Zoe and Kelsie. The only good part about it is the amount of banter with our tutor, Lisa Wotherspoon. After our tutorial, we were so tired and lazy that we got the bus back to Hillhead lol. We ran into Christian and he voiced how poor of a show that was lol. I took a nice long nap before my chem lab. On the way to lab, I got my chemistry alternative assessment exams and that kind of ruined my mood. I really can't believe it's time to do all my early leaver work... it's really freaking me out. I had a good time in lab, though. There was a lot of good chatting with my lab partners about chemistry stuff and harry potter lol. Dr. Harrison actually talked to me and somehow knew my name. He was all curious about my home uni and how I was liking Aberdeen and everything. He's really a lovely guy and now I feel really awful for not going to more of his lectures. Before leaving lab, everyone wished me a happy birthday and that was really sweet. I walked back to Bri's flat and stopped in to see them all for a few minutes before going back to my flat to hang out with my flatmates for the night. When I got back to my room, everyone was acting really sneaky and it was pretty funny. Mina kept saying "aw Lydia you have a birthday!" lol they all seemed pretty excited to celebrate with me :) We were hanging out in the kitchen and the risk of cholera was kind of out of control... it has now progressed to black plague conditions lol and all because the freaking cleaning lady forgot to give us more bags for the bin and toilet rolls. But after that threat passed, we all got ready go out to exodus. I was only expecting to go out with my flatmates and the Bulgarian boys, but Liam and Ross showed up too which was a really nice surprise. Liam made me a really cute card, too. We all got some pretty good pictures too when the Bulgarians arrived lol. They gave me a card and bottle of wine, too. Lol they are all so sweet. Then I opened all my cards from my flatmates and I very nearly cried. They cut right to the soul of me with their illustrations of flowers, monkeys, and cats lol but really they really are some of the nicest and most caring people I know. I'm so lucky to have lived with them. I know that they will miss me as much as I'm going to miss them. At least I will always be known as the Party Showerer, Singer, Almighty Gardener,  Morning Cougher, and Entertainer lol. But I had a really great night out with them... I just wish that I remembered more lol. We had a good time drinking in my flat and then going out to Exodus. Johanne sung to me in Norwegian on the bus and Mina, Jordan, Toni, and Johanne started a chant of "for she's a jolly good fella" also. Lol I'm just very happy that I was serenaded on the bus. And then Bart and Lola joined us at Exodus and that was really exciting! The DJ really played great music, too, so it was a lot of fun to dance and sing with everyone lol. People kept buying me drinks so I got pretty schwasted, but that's expected on my 21st birthday lol. Jordan kept screaming at me and shaking me if she thought that I wasn't acting excited enough. I was wearing a lot of pins about binge drinking and being a birthday princess, but at least I didn't lose any of them. Whenever I noticed that I lost some of my flair, I searched around the dance floor. When I found them I shoved them down my skirt and tights, so that was exciting later in the evening. It was a really good group to be out with, though. We all had a good time, but some people were definitely really drunk lol. Everyone kind of broke up over the course of the night, so I ended up getting the bus with Ross, Bart, and Lola and I fell asleep lol. At least I didn't puke. Jordan and Toni were back in my flat when I got back, and apparently when I got home I walked into the kitchen, grabbed the 2L coke, said "you're coming with me big boy", puked a little, and then fell asleep. I'm glad that they remembered me grabbing the coke, because it was definitely startling to wake up with the coke bottle in my bed lol. It was a really good night though.

I slept in pretty late on Saturday for obvious reasons. But coke really is my saving grace lol. Everyone was being really sneaky in the morning... I wasn't allowed into the kitchen for a while. I just had to wait in my room and listen to all the clunking and random bits of songs playing lol. I talked with my sister for a little, and enjoyed hearing how she is spending my birthday with Bob and my parents in NYC lol. At least I got to see her cats through skype. When I was finally allowed in the kitchen, Jordan made french toast for everyone and we had a good time sitting around and eating a nice birthday brunch. They stuck a bunch of candles into a piece of french toast and sung to me lol. We had a really good time sitting in the kitchen, commenting on the amount of impending cholera lol. I'm really glad that I was able to properly celebrate with them. After hanging around with them in the kitchen, I went to Bri's flat expecting all sorts of happy birthday wishing and hugs... but no one was there, except Lindsay who I woke up lol. So Lindsay, Tara, and I walked over to South House to find Bri and Kelsie. We talked with Christian and Andrew for a little, then we went back to Bri's flat and sat in the kitchen for a while. Zoe's presence was greatly missed, though :( Everyone sang happy birthday to me and I got a cake and all sorts of really nice presents and cards. I nearly cried while reading Kelsie and Zoe's card... I will probably look at them sometime when I'm in my room by myself and have a proper cry. I can't believe that I've been here with them for so long. I feel like it's still October. But after spending a while in the kitchen, Bri, Kelsie, and I went to the keystore for some necessities. We stopped by Catherine's room and had a good time talking with her and Eddie about spilling rice down your pants lol. I went home and talked with my parents, my mom informed me how my dad was very close to getting lost in Rockafeller center lol. Then I got ready to go out, met up with the girls (minus Zoe) in Bri's flat, and we all teetered over to South House to sit in the kitchen and drink. It was really nice to hang out in the flat with everyone. We really are friends with the most hilarious group of guys lol. I wish I could remember more details, but they always say the most interesting things, listen to the funniest music, and dance in the literally craziest ways lol. The amount of man love in the group is slightly worrisome, though lol. After lots of singing, and multiple listenings of the Evli Scotsman by Billy Connlly, we caught the bus to town. There was a lot of chanting, of course, lol and then we got off at school hill. We ran around between RGpoo, Exodus, and priory for basically the entire night. It was a lot of fun to be sung to in every place that we went lol. I was pretty proud of myself for getting all the girls to dance with me. It was very exciting in Exodus when they played a Green Day song lol. It's just a shame that people didn't have more money. A few people got pretty drunk, but a lot of us were just at that awkward half way point. Some people went home kind of early, so a smaller group of us went to Priory. I really do love dancing to ghetto music lol it just sucks that Priory always has all the really creepy people. I've never had to get in so many people's faces before in my life. When the club closed at 3, Christian and I had to wait and get our checked coats, and literally out of nowhere he was belly button drunk! It's always exciting when he gets that drunk and pulls out his belly button... it's kind of nasty but pretty funny. We then went to McDonald's for some late night food. And then for some reason, we decided to walk home instead of spend our non-existent money on a taxi and wait for years in the taxi line. I always forget how long the walk back to Hillhead is from town, though. It really sucks, especially when it's really cold. But at least the company was really good lol. Eddie always says the funniest things, and we definitely sang the trololo song for a while lol. When we finally got home, I changed into my long underwear and heated up some tasty meatloaf lol. I ran into Johanne in the kitchen and had a good chat with her about her night out with the Nordic society lol. Then I went into my room and tried to read... and woke up cuddling Harry Potter in the morning lol.

When I woke up in the morning I carefully put away my Harry Potter book and realized that I was secret stressing about all the damn school work I have to do in the next two weeks. Literally all of a sudden I have less than 14 days left in Scotland and I'm kind of freaking out about getting everything done and spending time with my friends. I heard all my flatmates up in the morning, so I went to the kitchen to hang out with them for a little bit. When I saw Johanne in the morning, I have no idea how I didn't notice all the different writing on her face the night before lol. She always has interesting nights out with her friends. After discussing our various nights on the town, there was a lot of chatting about snow... I really wish it would snow already! Especially since it's cold enough that the snow would definitely stick. I spent most of the day working on a lot of different chemistry stuff and listening to christmas music, which definitely lightened the mood lol. After spending most of the day working on chemistry stuff, I walked to the Bobbin and met up with Daniel for a drink. I have to remember to send his mom a thank you note for being so awesome when Bri and I stayed with them. It was nice to catch up with him, and the Bobbin is a really nice pub. It's kind of what you think about when you picture a pub, and it was especially cute sing there were a bunch of Christmas lights hung. The walk home was pretty nice, as well. Especially since it was really nice and Christmas-like cold. I love cold weather :)  I was way into the Christmas spirit when I got home. After finishing some other work, I watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas and the classic Disney Christmas cartoons. It was really nice to watch those shows on youtube. It reminded me a lot of my childhood. A little later in the night, everyone randomly convened in the kitchen lol. It was really desperate times, though. The lack of food was really hitting us... there weren't even potatoes. It was pretty awful lol. But we had a good time suffering together. It's always nice to reminisce about all the random things, good stories, and questionable decisions that have happened this semester lol. And Mina literally always laughs at the stupidest things. So it was a pretty good way to pass an evening without and snacks and a lack of good videos on youtube :)

Monday is always a kind of blah day. At least I don't have classes until 12:00... but it still is really difficult to wake up at 10:45, which is pretty sad lol. But my tutorial and lectures went pretty well. I love sitting at my Harry Potter desk in the wizagamot lecture hall lol. And that was basically the best thought of the day at uni. After class, I sat in the kitchen with everyone and talked about all sorts of yummy things, like Colin Firth lol. Johanne and I then went to lidl together and bought a ton of food that will probably last us like 2 days. We literally are pigs... when there's food in the fridge we just eat continuously lol. It was nice grocery shopping with Johanne though. I just can't get over that we literally have like 11 days left together. It really hasn't hit me yet. AFter we got back from lidl I quickly made some potatoes (to everyone's delight lol) and showered. The big overhead light in the shower was really rapey, though. It kept flickering at odd intervals so I literally felt like I was going to get stabbed lol. Mina made some tasty pasta cabonera for dinner, and we had a good time have an actual family sit down meal. We have definitely decided that Toni is the baby of the family lol. After dinner, I went on a search for Zoe, Kelsie, and Bri. I found them at South House. So I ended up hanging out with everyone in the kitchen, while casually rocking my onesie lol. It was a really nice night. It's always funny to watch Greg cook and hear his random banter lol. I really do love chatting with everyone, I'm going to miss them all like crazy. After a few hours of sitting in the kitchen, listening to music, and talking about all sorts of random things like hot toddies vs hot totties, we watched Space Jam. It was definitely a blast from the past. I probably haven't seen that movie since the 90's, so it was great to watch it again. I can't believe that it was so big over here, too. It was a good group of people to watch it with, though. We had all sorts of fun chats about the 90's. Bri and I had to explain kick ball to everyone which was pretty funny as well lol. After the movie, Zoe, Msrtyn, Callum, Christian, Andrew and I hung out in the kitchen talking for a while. Ginger jokes were a hot topic of conversation since Callum is so ginger lol. Martyn and Andrew played guitar for a little, too. I really love listening to anyone play guitar. It always amazes me! Seriously I could sit and watch someone play guitar for hours. Listening to the guitar kind of made me miss home and my brother. I haven't seen him in nearly 8 months which is pretty crazy. But anyways, it was a fun night. It just sucks that I actually have to start doing work at some point lol. But I'm going to try and get a lot done this week so I can really slag off next week :)

Always

It's funny how loud everyone is in the flat when they are all up at once. Monday I was just laying in bed listening to Mina, Toni, and Johanne have a wonderful morning giggle and chatter session lol. When I finally got out of bed, everyone had left and I headed to uni. My tutorial and lecture were very blah and then I had my Arthur lecture which was alright. We didn't have a very good Arthur story this week. I just sat there thinking about the huge tree out on Elphistone lawn and how dark it is by 4... it's ridiculous! When I got home I had a good time snacking on the thanksgiving left overs with everyone. Toni remarked how we have three bags of cholera, and I admitted that my love of milk has actually given me bones made of adamantium lol. We started talking about my birthday and thinking about how we should celebrate since I'm apparently going to be 24 or 33... same difference. Mina and Johanne think that once you're up there it's basically the same lol. We had a lot of nice chats about cats in the kitchen, too. Mina, Johanne, and I are definitely going to be crazy cat ladies lol. I've accepted the fact already. We talk about the funniest/strangest things when we are all hungry and sitting in the kitchen. Nothing good ever comes from that lol. I went to Bri's flat a little later and was shocked at how clean their flat was. Literally I haven't seen it that clean since freshers lol. We ended up just sitting around on our computers and talking about random things. Bri was reading Chuck Norris jokes out loud and some of them are really funny... "Ghosts sit around a campfire telling Chuck Norris storis". At one point I ran back to my flat to get my computer charger and I unfortunately left my computer open... so Kelsie fraped me. It's really funny how some of my friends actually thought that I was pregnant... but little Martyn Jr. is just an allusion of the frape. Martyn was getting fraped at the same time, so "we" had a really funny chat. I really love them all... it's amazing we don't actually have any actual love children all named Lydia lol. It was a pretty relaxed evening. After all the fraping excitement died down, I sat in the kitchen reading and listening to Kelsie beautifully sing Les Mis from the shower. Then I went home and watched a lot of Disney movies on youtube since I had made the executive to not go to uni tomorrow lol. Good life decisions.

Tuesday I woke up at the crack of 1:00 and hurried to the library to spend some time with Bri and my Scottish peeps. It was kind of sad that Bri had to spend the majority of her birthday writing her essay. but while she was there, I was able to run to town and all over Hillhead to get her cake and set things up for her present and birthday dinner. It also gave me extra time to get the card making juices flowing lol. When they finally got home from the library, I was asking Kelsie if they had any pop and she just stared at me like I had 8 eyes lol. It took her forever to realize what I was saying. I had never realized that I say pop funny... but apparently it sounds almost like "pap" lol. Zoe, Bri, Kelsie, and I had a really nice family dinner of fajitas. We even sat down at the table together and everything, it was adorable and hilarious :) We did have pop, and Kelsie said "you sound like a fat semi driver". It's always startling how violently I burp after drinking pop lol. Even when I hold them in, they still sound crazy... like a bear. Anyways, after dinner I gave Bri her presents. She seemed to really like my silly card. I always take so much pride in them so she tells me "calm down, Dr. Suess". After sitting around in Bri's flat waiting for everyone to get ready and discussing "poor, pour, and paw (HAND)" lol we went to union.  We had a lot of fun there with everyone. Apparently Beautiful William isn't even 20 yet which is a very big shock lol. We just sat around in our back corner area and had a good time with everyone. Martyn and I discussed little Martyn Jr lol. Everyone also talked a little about my birthday this weekend. I can't believe it's time for that already... it's kind of crazy. We all sang happy birthday and One D at Bri (very loudly) lol and kind of force fed her drinks. Then a bunch of us went back to South House and kept the party going until a porter told us to keep it quiet since we had 3 different complaints... in less than 30 min of being home lol. The singing continued, of course, just a little more quietly. Greg is literally fascinated with the pop it, lock it, drop it dance move lol he loves to tell me that it looks like I'm wanking off some huge dick... only in his mind. There was a huge display of man love, like usual. Unfortunately I wasn't able to capture it on video, but it happens so often that I think everyone will always remember it lol. A bunch of the guys and Kelsie insisted on playing that Rusted Root song from  Matilda like every other song... "no way! Is this the song from Matilda? I haven't heard that in years!" lol. After people started going to bed, Kelsie, James, Martyn, Zoe and I stayed up listening to a lot of Disney and oldie goodness lol. Kelsie basically made me stay an hour longer than I intended to stay by playing all sorts of songs that she knows I love lol. I nearly cried though when she played Flightless Bird... it's a good thing she turned it off after a few seconds. Christian randomly came into the kitchen at the perfect time because Zoe had decided to unearth her HILARIOUS youtube video. It was a perfect way to end the night lol. Seriously look it up. Zoe's EPIC improvisation. This is basically why youtube was made lol.

It was definitely difficult to wake up for my tutorial at 11... my sleeping schedule is ridiculous right now. The tutorial wasn't too exciting, but I had a good time afterwards when Lindsay and I went into town. There was a funny moment when we were waiting for the bus, and realized after the bus had driven past that we were standing on the wrong side of the street lol I'm allowed to make mistakes like that, but she's Scottish and has no excuse! We decided to stop by the tattoo place first, so I could make an appointment for the weekend. I ended up talking my tattoo out with two of the guys there for a while, since they weren't sure if the exact placing and size I wanted would be possible. But we figured it out, and  I was really excited when he said "I could do it today" lol I just looked at him and was like "now?". He was a pretty sexy man, as well, so that was an added plus lol. When I was getting the tattoo drawn I had to lean my head down on a little cart practically in his lap. It was kind of awkward but we laughed about it later lol. He even complimented me on it lol :) After my tattoo, Lindsay and I had some celebratory McDonalds and did some shopping. We then caught the bus home and I had a good time showing my flatmates my new tattoo. Everyone really liked it :) Mina says it shows my player attitude... lol. I walked to lidl with Mina and Jordan for some stuff to make pizza for dinner, which was literally amazing. Mina is like the best cook ever. She made the dough and everything. It was fabulous. And I had a really nice time helping/getting in her way in the kitchen and talking with her lol. I really like watching her cook. I hope to bring some of her recipes home with me :) when Johanne got home we all sat in the kitchen for a while, just eating and talking lol. I finally showed Mina the dramatic reading of a break up letter. We have been quoting that for a while lol. After dinner, I went over to Bri's flat to show Bri and Kelsie my surprise. They kind of freaked out when they saw it. They weren't expecting me to get it today lol. I really do love it, and I agree with Bri that it is very pretty. Black ink and skin look really nice together. And some things you feel so strongly for on the inside, you want to express them on the outside, too. I love getting tattoos that mean more than one thing to me. Everyone I've been luck enough to meet on this amazing experience has changed me in some way. I love them. Always.

Does Chuck Norris have a pez??

This week has been completely taken over by essays... it's been pretty awful.

Monday I spent a lot of time in the library preparing for the Vikings! essay. I had a chemistry tutorial then lecture, and those were both pretty boring. I actually just blogged during my chemistry lecture lol. Then I went back to the library and worked some more before my Arthur class. I actually really like my Arthur class, it's really interesting and the reading is always exciting. After class, I visited the girls for a little while and had a good time watching Bri and Kelsie make different face in hole pictures lol. A lot of them were really hilarious, especially the Twilight type ones and the punch lines with them. Bri of course made a picture of me as a gorilla. That was to be expected, but it was still pretty startling lol. After hanging out in Bri's flat, my flatmates and I made a rather large dinner. Lola and Bart came over and we had a really great time eating and exchanging puke stories. Lol for some reason we always talk about those type of stories, and they are absolutely hilarious. A little later in the night, I went to union for the quiz night. There were literally only like 5 other groups playing, but it was a lot of fun. We had a pretty vulgar team name again lol but it was a lot of fun. We were actually winning at one point! The film and movie round was absolutely amazing. There were Bambi ("flower"), Saving Private Ryan, and Spice World references, so we dominated that round lol. And during the geography round there were a ton of American references. Ronan Wallace definitely did that on purpose. Bri screamed when they asked what the capitol of Pennsylvania is lol. But somehow in the end pretty much one person from each group had to chug the yard of beer. I think the bar people did that on purpose lol. So Kelsie decided that she would take on for the team and do it. Everyone was cheering her on, even one of the bar tenders said "I hope she finishes it". All these guys had gone before her, but none of them could do it. And then Kelsie gets up there and downs it like a BOSS! She didn't even take a stop! It was AMAZING! Lol It was just so perfect how she didn't spill any on her and she just put it down like it was the easiest thing. Everyone was way excited for her lol. But we wouldn't have let her do it if we thought she couldn't finish it. She's just that awesome :)

But what wasn't awesome was going to the library at 10 am for the Vikings! essay. It was absolute crap, actually. It took way too long to write, even though I had all my sources and stuff organized. It was just really difficult to write something that I could not care less about. Catherine joined our group too so that definitely made everything a little more fun. Especially, when we watched Regi Dances to Mamma Mia when James was present lol. At one point when Kelsie and Zoe went to their tutorial, Catherine and I were waiting for them to get back so we could go eat. James said that they were gone for a really long time, and I said "their probably eating, dicks". However, the comma wasn't really voiced, and James said "their eating dicks?" "No! There was a comma in there that just wasn't annunciated" lol. But that was definitely the best part about Tuesday. It was just a crap day since Vikings! took over my life. I didn't get home until like 9:30, but it was nice to talk with my flatmates and just relax. And then I literally crashed.

On wednesday I turned in the most shite essay... it literally was awful, but oh well. I'm glad that I got it turned in before my Arthur tutorial so I could enjoy that lol. After my tutorial I went to the library to work on my essay, but I just ended up staring out at the North Sea, pretending to be productive lol. So then I just went home and laundry and those type of things, AND I convinced Mina to have ogreten for dinner lol. She enjoys laughing at how modestly I ask her to make the potatoes and gravy, but she made me cook it this time. It was a lot of fun to make and everyone seemed to really like it lol. Everyone kept taking pictures of me cooking, since they all know it was my favorite dish lol. The word was added to our Bulgarian dictionary, and it's defined as "Lydia's favorite dish". They all loved my systematic cooking lol and it was great to talk about the impending risk of cholera lol. To celebrate finishing the Vikings! essay, I went ot union with Kelsie, Bri, and Zoe. It was really great when all the south house boys showed up, too. We had a lot of fun talking and hanging out, like how we did in the beginning of the semester. Except now that we are a lot more comfortable with each other we talk about the most hilarious and random things. And we feel like we can steal each random objects of each others, like Andrew's wallet. Honestly, I really love everyone here. They make me feel cared for and awesome, even when I literally look like a troll lol. It's always so funny when you literally look your worst and then you end up seeing literally everyone and their brother. I totally called how I would see everyone I knew, but I really didn't care. My band t shirt and jeans made playing badminton later a lot easier lol. At least this time no one made fun of me for hopping when I hit the birdie. We were just playing for the fun of smacking something around with a racket. Overall it was a really great night, even with the drunk flower and creepy Steve hovering around lol.

Thursday morning I met Bri in her flat before walking to uni. She really is a noisy gremlin lol. She was having a really difficult time preparing her "tomato" soup (really hot ketchup soup). It was very entertaining to watch, especially at 9:30 am lol. We walked together to the Meston building and then I had my inorganic lab. That was actually a lot of fun this week, too. There are 2 other people in my lab group and we had a great time working together and discussing everything lol. Lab is so much less stressful when the other people are as confused as you and you all just talk about it. I especially love how everyone kept talking to me about Thanksgiving lol some people actually celebrate it here! That was good fun to talk about... and also I enjoyed complaining to the lab assistant about how the amount of pipetting I've done here is actually shit. Lol but what I really love is how nerdy some of the guys are in my lab... the guy in my group said "it's SCIENCE" and it reminded me of all my nerdy science friends in Wooster lol I nearly died. I skipped my other lectures after lab in order to finish my Arthur essay, but I really ended up procrastinating lol. I hung out in the kitchen for a while, listening to music with my flatmates and helping cook. A Moulin Rouge song came on Jordan's ipod and I literally freaked out lol I tackled Johanne and kind of screamed... it may have been a little of an overreaction, but I was very surprised. Everyone made me go back in my room and write my essay lol. I eventually finished it, and it was an alright essay. Much better than the Vikings! one, but that wasn't a great feat at all. I took a little break to go over to Bri's flat and hang out with everyone while she opened her birthday package from home. I forgot how much I like tootsie pops and miss slim jims. Oh american goodness. I eventually finished my essay and then went to union for a little bit. It was race night so everyone was gambling (for charity lol) on a bunch of horse races lol. I didn't stay for long, though. I was literally exhausted from all the essay writing.

Friday I didn't end up going to my Vikings! tutorial or lecture. I slept in and got some other things done for my essay and lab write up. I sped through my lab on friday and got home just in time for friday night date night! Kelsie, Zoe, Bri, Catherine, Lindsay and I went to dinner at McDonalds and then saw Breaking Dawn at the Vue. I love how classy we were going to McDonalds, and on the bus to town we were talking about Twilight and Jacob and Edward like 13 year old girls lol. People were definitely judging us harshly. But that was ok, because I would have judged us too lol. We had a really good time out, though. The movie was pretty ridiculous. I thought they did a good job on some parts, like making Bella look like she was literally dying. But other parts were just pulled out of the blue for no reason. The dialogue was kind of shit, and Emmett was punching werewolves all over the place lol. I cried a lot, like an idiot lol. But a lot of the book is very sad, and I had just read it a few weeks ago. I just love Jacob Black so much. Literally I can go on forever about how much I love his character. Some funny observations about UK cinemas are how you pick your seats and the adverts before the movie literally make NO sense. You will be sitting there, watching it and wondering where it's going. It's kind of hilarious lol. After the movie, we all had a good time commenting about it. Apparently there was a rule that every time you cry, you have to take 3 shots... I got at least 24 shots. That was the times that Kelsie saw me, too. I literally freaked out during the wedding scene when Flightless Bird played. It was so sweet how they brought that song back. I grabbed Kelsie lol and after the movie when we were talking about how perfect that was I literally pounced on her. That song will always remind me of her. And randomly finding hamburgers in my purse will always remind me of Bri lol. After we got home, I went back to my flat since I promised Toni, Mina, Johanne, Jordan, and the Bulgarian boys that I would go out to Exodus with them. I definitely got a warm welcome when I arrived at my flat, to say the least lol. Pretty much everyone screamed (except for the boys) and said how happy they were that I made it back in time lol. It was a pretty good night out, actually. I learned a lot of Bulgarian lol all the Bulgarians were impressed with how well I can speak it. George told me that I was "born to be Bulgarian". Basically because I'm good at the language and I don't get drunk too fast. We had a lot of fun at Exodus, but all of a sudden everything got kind of hectic. So we ended up leaving Exodus and going to McDonalds, then we all went home. However, we got separated and I ended up getting a free ride home with the boys lol. But that really sucked when I realized that I was locked out of my flat and had to get the porters to let me in. I'm pretty sure everyone in my flat building hates us. But that's totally fine with me.

So I woke up on Saturday around 2:00 and was really confused about the pain in my elbow. Surprise bruises and cuts are always the best, especially when you have no idea how it happened. I showed Toni, Mina, and Johanne and they were kind of shocked by how angry my elbow looked lol. After I finally made myself decent, I went over to Bri's flat and hung out in the kitchen talking for a while. Then Jordan, Mina, Johanne, and I went to a nice dinner at the Brig O' Don. We had a good time eating and watching all the little kids run around lol. Then we went to ldyl for Thanksgiving shopping. We weren't able to find sage or bags of croutons for for stuffing, but we improvised. I pretty much was the Thanksgiving guru lol everyone kept asking me for directions and what I thought about everything. And since I was running late for going out, Mina, Johanne, and Jordan took over the feast prep and thawed the turkey and cut up the bread. We ended up playing kings at Eddie's flat for a little before going to town. We actually went to town kind of early, but we still didn't get to Exodus in time for free entrance which was annoying. However, we did have a good time at Eddies. His flatmates are pretty ridiculous. He has a really nice flat, though. When I walked into the New Carnegie court I literally felt like I wasn't in Hillhead anymore. His flat was all decorated for Christmas, too and we were listening to Christmas music for a while and parts of Love Actually and Elf were played. It felt like a Christmas party lol. It was a really fun night, though. I love pregaming so much, especially with how ridiculous we act. There was a lot of spastic dancing and some good youtube videos were shown, too lol. But then we went to town and things were kind of crazy. Kelsie and I started chants on the bus which was great lol. And we had a good time dancing at Exodus, but then for some reason we went to Priory and nothing good every happens there during the weekends. There were a ton of creepers out like usual. I punched a guy, actually. My hand is now bruised, so I hope his face is bruised as well. Then we went to McDonalds lol and caught the night bus home. It was a pretty good night, I just don't know why we ALWAYS go to Priory because we ALWAYS get creeped on. It's ridiculous. What's even more ridiculous are my stupid feelings. I never want to leave this place :(

Sunday was a lot of fun, though. I woke up at the crack of 1:00 and basically started cooking Thanksgiving dinner lol. It only took like 6 hours, but everything turned out really well! I'm not going to lie, the turkey was pretty disgusting when it was all raw and cold feeling. I didn't really like reaching my hand into all it's cavities lol. But I'm definitely the Thanksgiving guru now, though. I totally owned our crappy little baby Belling ovens and made a Thanksgiving feast with everyone's help. Buttering and seasoning the turkey and stirring the stuffing were the worst parts. but besides that everything was a lot of fun, actually. Everyone took a bunch of pictures and it was adorable that we all got dressed up lol. Our flat literally smelled amazing! It really got me into the Thanksgiving/I would call everyone into the kitchen every time I would baste the turkey and we would all marvel at how nicely it was cooking lol. But everything turned out really well, a lot better than I expected. We literally had a shit ton of food, though. Besides the turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, and corn, we had green beans, baked beans, and corn bread. It was so good, though. There's a funny video of me cutting the turkey and some even better pictures of us eating lol. We all felt disgusting after eating, though. Literally, the multiple food babies made it difficult to function lol. So we kind of all took a few hours break to digest before regrouping for dessert lol. I went to Bri's flat and caught up with everyone over there. We talked about all the normal things, like last night, erotic books, and bombs. I'm really looking forward to Bri's birthday on Tuesday. I still need to get her something, though. I literally have no idea, which really sucks. We also talked about a few things to do for my birthday on Saturday. It really doesn't feel like it's getting anywhere close to my birthday, though. I can barely get over that I just celebrated Thanksgiving lol. Back in my flat, Bart and Lola came over and really did us a favor by eating some of the left overs lol. We had a good time talking in the kitchen about all sorts of things and looking at the many different pictures from earlier in the day. We've come to a unanimous decision that all our babies are going to be named Lydia, and that we "really do have a lot of cholera in the corridor" lol. Mina and her comments about cholera are ridiculous.

Now since I FINALLY finished this blog, while hanging out with Lindsay in Bri's flat I'm going to watch a movie lol. But first I need to redeem myself after thinking that the pez dispenser Bri gave me earlier in the week is actually Obi Wan Kenobi... not Chuck Norris lol.
