Always

It's funny how loud everyone is in the flat when they are all up at once. Monday I was just laying in bed listening to Mina, Toni, and Johanne have a wonderful morning giggle and chatter session lol. When I finally got out of bed, everyone had left and I headed to uni. My tutorial and lecture were very blah and then I had my Arthur lecture which was alright. We didn't have a very good Arthur story this week. I just sat there thinking about the huge tree out on Elphistone lawn and how dark it is by 4... it's ridiculous! When I got home I had a good time snacking on the thanksgiving left overs with everyone. Toni remarked how we have three bags of cholera, and I admitted that my love of milk has actually given me bones made of adamantium lol. We started talking about my birthday and thinking about how we should celebrate since I'm apparently going to be 24 or 33... same difference. Mina and Johanne think that once you're up there it's basically the same lol. We had a lot of nice chats about cats in the kitchen, too. Mina, Johanne, and I are definitely going to be crazy cat ladies lol. I've accepted the fact already. We talk about the funniest/strangest things when we are all hungry and sitting in the kitchen. Nothing good ever comes from that lol. I went to Bri's flat a little later and was shocked at how clean their flat was. Literally I haven't seen it that clean since freshers lol. We ended up just sitting around on our computers and talking about random things. Bri was reading Chuck Norris jokes out loud and some of them are really funny... "Ghosts sit around a campfire telling Chuck Norris storis". At one point I ran back to my flat to get my computer charger and I unfortunately left my computer open... so Kelsie fraped me. It's really funny how some of my friends actually thought that I was pregnant... but little Martyn Jr. is just an allusion of the frape. Martyn was getting fraped at the same time, so "we" had a really funny chat. I really love them all... it's amazing we don't actually have any actual love children all named Lydia lol. It was a pretty relaxed evening. After all the fraping excitement died down, I sat in the kitchen reading and listening to Kelsie beautifully sing Les Mis from the shower. Then I went home and watched a lot of Disney movies on youtube since I had made the executive to not go to uni tomorrow lol. Good life decisions.

Tuesday I woke up at the crack of 1:00 and hurried to the library to spend some time with Bri and my Scottish peeps. It was kind of sad that Bri had to spend the majority of her birthday writing her essay. but while she was there, I was able to run to town and all over Hillhead to get her cake and set things up for her present and birthday dinner. It also gave me extra time to get the card making juices flowing lol. When they finally got home from the library, I was asking Kelsie if they had any pop and she just stared at me like I had 8 eyes lol. It took her forever to realize what I was saying. I had never realized that I say pop funny... but apparently it sounds almost like "pap" lol. Zoe, Bri, Kelsie, and I had a really nice family dinner of fajitas. We even sat down at the table together and everything, it was adorable and hilarious :) We did have pop, and Kelsie said "you sound like a fat semi driver". It's always startling how violently I burp after drinking pop lol. Even when I hold them in, they still sound crazy... like a bear. Anyways, after dinner I gave Bri her presents. She seemed to really like my silly card. I always take so much pride in them so she tells me "calm down, Dr. Suess". After sitting around in Bri's flat waiting for everyone to get ready and discussing "poor, pour, and paw (HAND)" lol we went to union.  We had a lot of fun there with everyone. Apparently Beautiful William isn't even 20 yet which is a very big shock lol. We just sat around in our back corner area and had a good time with everyone. Martyn and I discussed little Martyn Jr lol. Everyone also talked a little about my birthday this weekend. I can't believe it's time for that already... it's kind of crazy. We all sang happy birthday and One D at Bri (very loudly) lol and kind of force fed her drinks. Then a bunch of us went back to South House and kept the party going until a porter told us to keep it quiet since we had 3 different complaints... in less than 30 min of being home lol. The singing continued, of course, just a little more quietly. Greg is literally fascinated with the pop it, lock it, drop it dance move lol he loves to tell me that it looks like I'm wanking off some huge dick... only in his mind. There was a huge display of man love, like usual. Unfortunately I wasn't able to capture it on video, but it happens so often that I think everyone will always remember it lol. A bunch of the guys and Kelsie insisted on playing that Rusted Root song from  Matilda like every other song... "no way! Is this the song from Matilda? I haven't heard that in years!" lol. After people started going to bed, Kelsie, James, Martyn, Zoe and I stayed up listening to a lot of Disney and oldie goodness lol. Kelsie basically made me stay an hour longer than I intended to stay by playing all sorts of songs that she knows I love lol. I nearly cried though when she played Flightless Bird... it's a good thing she turned it off after a few seconds. Christian randomly came into the kitchen at the perfect time because Zoe had decided to unearth her HILARIOUS youtube video. It was a perfect way to end the night lol. Seriously look it up. Zoe's EPIC improvisation. This is basically why youtube was made lol.

It was definitely difficult to wake up for my tutorial at 11... my sleeping schedule is ridiculous right now. The tutorial wasn't too exciting, but I had a good time afterwards when Lindsay and I went into town. There was a funny moment when we were waiting for the bus, and realized after the bus had driven past that we were standing on the wrong side of the street lol I'm allowed to make mistakes like that, but she's Scottish and has no excuse! We decided to stop by the tattoo place first, so I could make an appointment for the weekend. I ended up talking my tattoo out with two of the guys there for a while, since they weren't sure if the exact placing and size I wanted would be possible. But we figured it out, and  I was really excited when he said "I could do it today" lol I just looked at him and was like "now?". He was a pretty sexy man, as well, so that was an added plus lol. When I was getting the tattoo drawn I had to lean my head down on a little cart practically in his lap. It was kind of awkward but we laughed about it later lol. He even complimented me on it lol :) After my tattoo, Lindsay and I had some celebratory McDonalds and did some shopping. We then caught the bus home and I had a good time showing my flatmates my new tattoo. Everyone really liked it :) Mina says it shows my player attitude... lol. I walked to lidl with Mina and Jordan for some stuff to make pizza for dinner, which was literally amazing. Mina is like the best cook ever. She made the dough and everything. It was fabulous. And I had a really nice time helping/getting in her way in the kitchen and talking with her lol. I really like watching her cook. I hope to bring some of her recipes home with me :) when Johanne got home we all sat in the kitchen for a while, just eating and talking lol. I finally showed Mina the dramatic reading of a break up letter. We have been quoting that for a while lol. After dinner, I went over to Bri's flat to show Bri and Kelsie my surprise. They kind of freaked out when they saw it. They weren't expecting me to get it today lol. I really do love it, and I agree with Bri that it is very pretty. Black ink and skin look really nice together. And some things you feel so strongly for on the inside, you want to express them on the outside, too. I love getting tattoos that mean more than one thing to me. Everyone I've been luck enough to meet on this amazing experience has changed me in some way. I love them. Always.

Does Chuck Norris have a pez??

This week has been completely taken over by essays... it's been pretty awful.

Monday I spent a lot of time in the library preparing for the Vikings! essay. I had a chemistry tutorial then lecture, and those were both pretty boring. I actually just blogged during my chemistry lecture lol. Then I went back to the library and worked some more before my Arthur class. I actually really like my Arthur class, it's really interesting and the reading is always exciting. After class, I visited the girls for a little while and had a good time watching Bri and Kelsie make different face in hole pictures lol. A lot of them were really hilarious, especially the Twilight type ones and the punch lines with them. Bri of course made a picture of me as a gorilla. That was to be expected, but it was still pretty startling lol. After hanging out in Bri's flat, my flatmates and I made a rather large dinner. Lola and Bart came over and we had a really great time eating and exchanging puke stories. Lol for some reason we always talk about those type of stories, and they are absolutely hilarious. A little later in the night, I went to union for the quiz night. There were literally only like 5 other groups playing, but it was a lot of fun. We had a pretty vulgar team name again lol but it was a lot of fun. We were actually winning at one point! The film and movie round was absolutely amazing. There were Bambi ("flower"), Saving Private Ryan, and Spice World references, so we dominated that round lol. And during the geography round there were a ton of American references. Ronan Wallace definitely did that on purpose. Bri screamed when they asked what the capitol of Pennsylvania is lol. But somehow in the end pretty much one person from each group had to chug the yard of beer. I think the bar people did that on purpose lol. So Kelsie decided that she would take on for the team and do it. Everyone was cheering her on, even one of the bar tenders said "I hope she finishes it". All these guys had gone before her, but none of them could do it. And then Kelsie gets up there and downs it like a BOSS! She didn't even take a stop! It was AMAZING! Lol It was just so perfect how she didn't spill any on her and she just put it down like it was the easiest thing. Everyone was way excited for her lol. But we wouldn't have let her do it if we thought she couldn't finish it. She's just that awesome :)

But what wasn't awesome was going to the library at 10 am for the Vikings! essay. It was absolute crap, actually. It took way too long to write, even though I had all my sources and stuff organized. It was just really difficult to write something that I could not care less about. Catherine joined our group too so that definitely made everything a little more fun. Especially, when we watched Regi Dances to Mamma Mia when James was present lol. At one point when Kelsie and Zoe went to their tutorial, Catherine and I were waiting for them to get back so we could go eat. James said that they were gone for a really long time, and I said "their probably eating, dicks". However, the comma wasn't really voiced, and James said "their eating dicks?" "No! There was a comma in there that just wasn't annunciated" lol. But that was definitely the best part about Tuesday. It was just a crap day since Vikings! took over my life. I didn't get home until like 9:30, but it was nice to talk with my flatmates and just relax. And then I literally crashed.

On wednesday I turned in the most shite essay... it literally was awful, but oh well. I'm glad that I got it turned in before my Arthur tutorial so I could enjoy that lol. After my tutorial I went to the library to work on my essay, but I just ended up staring out at the North Sea, pretending to be productive lol. So then I just went home and laundry and those type of things, AND I convinced Mina to have ogreten for dinner lol. She enjoys laughing at how modestly I ask her to make the potatoes and gravy, but she made me cook it this time. It was a lot of fun to make and everyone seemed to really like it lol. Everyone kept taking pictures of me cooking, since they all know it was my favorite dish lol. The word was added to our Bulgarian dictionary, and it's defined as "Lydia's favorite dish". They all loved my systematic cooking lol and it was great to talk about the impending risk of cholera lol. To celebrate finishing the Vikings! essay, I went ot union with Kelsie, Bri, and Zoe. It was really great when all the south house boys showed up, too. We had a lot of fun talking and hanging out, like how we did in the beginning of the semester. Except now that we are a lot more comfortable with each other we talk about the most hilarious and random things. And we feel like we can steal each random objects of each others, like Andrew's wallet. Honestly, I really love everyone here. They make me feel cared for and awesome, even when I literally look like a troll lol. It's always so funny when you literally look your worst and then you end up seeing literally everyone and their brother. I totally called how I would see everyone I knew, but I really didn't care. My band t shirt and jeans made playing badminton later a lot easier lol. At least this time no one made fun of me for hopping when I hit the birdie. We were just playing for the fun of smacking something around with a racket. Overall it was a really great night, even with the drunk flower and creepy Steve hovering around lol.

Thursday morning I met Bri in her flat before walking to uni. She really is a noisy gremlin lol. She was having a really difficult time preparing her "tomato" soup (really hot ketchup soup). It was very entertaining to watch, especially at 9:30 am lol. We walked together to the Meston building and then I had my inorganic lab. That was actually a lot of fun this week, too. There are 2 other people in my lab group and we had a great time working together and discussing everything lol. Lab is so much less stressful when the other people are as confused as you and you all just talk about it. I especially love how everyone kept talking to me about Thanksgiving lol some people actually celebrate it here! That was good fun to talk about... and also I enjoyed complaining to the lab assistant about how the amount of pipetting I've done here is actually shit. Lol but what I really love is how nerdy some of the guys are in my lab... the guy in my group said "it's SCIENCE" and it reminded me of all my nerdy science friends in Wooster lol I nearly died. I skipped my other lectures after lab in order to finish my Arthur essay, but I really ended up procrastinating lol. I hung out in the kitchen for a while, listening to music with my flatmates and helping cook. A Moulin Rouge song came on Jordan's ipod and I literally freaked out lol I tackled Johanne and kind of screamed... it may have been a little of an overreaction, but I was very surprised. Everyone made me go back in my room and write my essay lol. I eventually finished it, and it was an alright essay. Much better than the Vikings! one, but that wasn't a great feat at all. I took a little break to go over to Bri's flat and hang out with everyone while she opened her birthday package from home. I forgot how much I like tootsie pops and miss slim jims. Oh american goodness. I eventually finished my essay and then went to union for a little bit. It was race night so everyone was gambling (for charity lol) on a bunch of horse races lol. I didn't stay for long, though. I was literally exhausted from all the essay writing.

Friday I didn't end up going to my Vikings! tutorial or lecture. I slept in and got some other things done for my essay and lab write up. I sped through my lab on friday and got home just in time for friday night date night! Kelsie, Zoe, Bri, Catherine, Lindsay and I went to dinner at McDonalds and then saw Breaking Dawn at the Vue. I love how classy we were going to McDonalds, and on the bus to town we were talking about Twilight and Jacob and Edward like 13 year old girls lol. People were definitely judging us harshly. But that was ok, because I would have judged us too lol. We had a really good time out, though. The movie was pretty ridiculous. I thought they did a good job on some parts, like making Bella look like she was literally dying. But other parts were just pulled out of the blue for no reason. The dialogue was kind of shit, and Emmett was punching werewolves all over the place lol. I cried a lot, like an idiot lol. But a lot of the book is very sad, and I had just read it a few weeks ago. I just love Jacob Black so much. Literally I can go on forever about how much I love his character. Some funny observations about UK cinemas are how you pick your seats and the adverts before the movie literally make NO sense. You will be sitting there, watching it and wondering where it's going. It's kind of hilarious lol. After the movie, we all had a good time commenting about it. Apparently there was a rule that every time you cry, you have to take 3 shots... I got at least 24 shots. That was the times that Kelsie saw me, too. I literally freaked out during the wedding scene when Flightless Bird played. It was so sweet how they brought that song back. I grabbed Kelsie lol and after the movie when we were talking about how perfect that was I literally pounced on her. That song will always remind me of her. And randomly finding hamburgers in my purse will always remind me of Bri lol. After we got home, I went back to my flat since I promised Toni, Mina, Johanne, Jordan, and the Bulgarian boys that I would go out to Exodus with them. I definitely got a warm welcome when I arrived at my flat, to say the least lol. Pretty much everyone screamed (except for the boys) and said how happy they were that I made it back in time lol. It was a pretty good night out, actually. I learned a lot of Bulgarian lol all the Bulgarians were impressed with how well I can speak it. George told me that I was "born to be Bulgarian". Basically because I'm good at the language and I don't get drunk too fast. We had a lot of fun at Exodus, but all of a sudden everything got kind of hectic. So we ended up leaving Exodus and going to McDonalds, then we all went home. However, we got separated and I ended up getting a free ride home with the boys lol. But that really sucked when I realized that I was locked out of my flat and had to get the porters to let me in. I'm pretty sure everyone in my flat building hates us. But that's totally fine with me.

So I woke up on Saturday around 2:00 and was really confused about the pain in my elbow. Surprise bruises and cuts are always the best, especially when you have no idea how it happened. I showed Toni, Mina, and Johanne and they were kind of shocked by how angry my elbow looked lol. After I finally made myself decent, I went over to Bri's flat and hung out in the kitchen talking for a while. Then Jordan, Mina, Johanne, and I went to a nice dinner at the Brig O' Don. We had a good time eating and watching all the little kids run around lol. Then we went to ldyl for Thanksgiving shopping. We weren't able to find sage or bags of croutons for for stuffing, but we improvised. I pretty much was the Thanksgiving guru lol everyone kept asking me for directions and what I thought about everything. And since I was running late for going out, Mina, Johanne, and Jordan took over the feast prep and thawed the turkey and cut up the bread. We ended up playing kings at Eddie's flat for a little before going to town. We actually went to town kind of early, but we still didn't get to Exodus in time for free entrance which was annoying. However, we did have a good time at Eddies. His flatmates are pretty ridiculous. He has a really nice flat, though. When I walked into the New Carnegie court I literally felt like I wasn't in Hillhead anymore. His flat was all decorated for Christmas, too and we were listening to Christmas music for a while and parts of Love Actually and Elf were played. It felt like a Christmas party lol. It was a really fun night, though. I love pregaming so much, especially with how ridiculous we act. There was a lot of spastic dancing and some good youtube videos were shown, too lol. But then we went to town and things were kind of crazy. Kelsie and I started chants on the bus which was great lol. And we had a good time dancing at Exodus, but then for some reason we went to Priory and nothing good every happens there during the weekends. There were a ton of creepers out like usual. I punched a guy, actually. My hand is now bruised, so I hope his face is bruised as well. Then we went to McDonalds lol and caught the night bus home. It was a pretty good night, I just don't know why we ALWAYS go to Priory because we ALWAYS get creeped on. It's ridiculous. What's even more ridiculous are my stupid feelings. I never want to leave this place :(

Sunday was a lot of fun, though. I woke up at the crack of 1:00 and basically started cooking Thanksgiving dinner lol. It only took like 6 hours, but everything turned out really well! I'm not going to lie, the turkey was pretty disgusting when it was all raw and cold feeling. I didn't really like reaching my hand into all it's cavities lol. But I'm definitely the Thanksgiving guru now, though. I totally owned our crappy little baby Belling ovens and made a Thanksgiving feast with everyone's help. Buttering and seasoning the turkey and stirring the stuffing were the worst parts. but besides that everything was a lot of fun, actually. Everyone took a bunch of pictures and it was adorable that we all got dressed up lol. Our flat literally smelled amazing! It really got me into the Thanksgiving/I would call everyone into the kitchen every time I would baste the turkey and we would all marvel at how nicely it was cooking lol. But everything turned out really well, a lot better than I expected. We literally had a shit ton of food, though. Besides the turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, and corn, we had green beans, baked beans, and corn bread. It was so good, though. There's a funny video of me cutting the turkey and some even better pictures of us eating lol. We all felt disgusting after eating, though. Literally, the multiple food babies made it difficult to function lol. So we kind of all took a few hours break to digest before regrouping for dessert lol. I went to Bri's flat and caught up with everyone over there. We talked about all the normal things, like last night, erotic books, and bombs. I'm really looking forward to Bri's birthday on Tuesday. I still need to get her something, though. I literally have no idea, which really sucks. We also talked about a few things to do for my birthday on Saturday. It really doesn't feel like it's getting anywhere close to my birthday, though. I can barely get over that I just celebrated Thanksgiving lol. Back in my flat, Bart and Lola came over and really did us a favor by eating some of the left overs lol. We had a good time talking in the kitchen about all sorts of things and looking at the many different pictures from earlier in the day. We've come to a unanimous decision that all our babies are going to be named Lydia, and that we "really do have a lot of cholera in the corridor" lol. Mina and her comments about cholera are ridiculous.

Now since I FINALLY finished this blog, while hanging out with Lindsay in Bri's flat I'm going to watch a movie lol. But first I need to redeem myself after thinking that the pez dispenser Bri gave me earlier in the week is actually Obi Wan Kenobi... not Chuck Norris lol.

Oh, The Places You'll Go

Friday was a pretty long day. I had nearly straight classes from 9 until about 4:30. It was a pretty good day, though. I felt like I got a lot done. My tutorial was pretty helpful for Vikings! actually, but the lecture was such a waste of time. Kelsie put together a puzzle, Zoe facebooked, and I blogged lol. I went to the library for a little and got some sources for the Vikings! essay. While I was in the library I smelled that certain cologne that loads of guys wear here and I could honestly kill the person that invented it. It's one of those smells that you can really tie to certain events and people and it just really messed with your brain. But anyways, the rest of my day was filled with exciting chemistry lol. The lecture was pretty boring, like always. But it's always funny to hear the most monotoned, dry-humored, nerdy chemistry professor explain how excited he is about the different colors he used in his powerpoint slide lol. I even met with my course coordinator between my classes... it took me forever to find his office. At least I didn't get lost this time, although the secretary had to call him to get directions to his office. Then I had my lab write up session and that was pretty great. I love when everything kind of blends together and works out, and then you can leave early :) After lab I stopped by my Scottish loves' flat and visited with them for a little, which is always something to smile about. At around 5:00 I walked (the long way) to meet up with Bri and the Arcadia people for our historical tour of King's college. I may or may not have nearly gotten lost on my way to the old town center building, but I definitely saw a lot of really beautiful old granite homes all lit up at night. Bri and I hung out with the tour guide for a little and he gave us a good talking to about Scottish accents and terminology lol. He asked us if we knew what a "dreep" was and he gave us a list of options and I said "I really hope it's the last one" lol and Bri said definitely. The last option was that a dreep is a really boring guy, the kind that takes you on a date and you really wish you wouldn't have been nice and said yes. WHen the other Arcadia students met up with us, we started our tour. I was actually really excited that Tomas Sanchez from Wooster who is studying in Glasgow came lol. We had a good time talking. The group was really small, only 8 students and 4 of them were from Aberdeen. Bri and I were definitely the silly ones in the group who made all the funny comments. The King's college area tour was really beautiful at night. The old buildings look amazing when they are all lit up and it was a really clear and nice evening. The tour guide kind of had a good time making fun of me and Bri, but it was all in good fun. Who doesn't enjoy all sorts of jokes about America and women and man eaters?? At one point we walked down a little ally and the guide said that this building was something like a nunnery, and then we walked to a building diagonal from the nunnery and the tour guide got really quiet and said "now this building is something that no one really knows about... except for the young men and boys...". You can imagine what everyone was thinking lol then he all of a sudden says "it's a masonry..." LOL I said "Oh ok I was thinking that building is oddly close to the nunnery". We then walked around the other building and even went into the chapel. There really is something magical about campuses at night. When we were back on high street, Bri said how we have to come back when it's snowing because it would look exactly like Hogsmeade! It's so true, too. The little granite and stone building with the old gas lights on the walls really look like Hogsmeade. I really hope that it snows before I leave. But, no matter what I need to get some pictures of the campus at night! Out tour was a lot of fun, and I think that even the other students had a good time. When we were standing by The Brewery, a random 4th year appears out of nowhere and I accidentally surprise grabbed Bri when I got a fright lol. He joined our group and said how he learned more tonight than he had in the past 3 years of being in Aberdeen. So it was a really nice and informative walk. How the Aberdeen people treated women who broke the law was kind of crazy, and apparently the last man to be executed in the UK was executed in Old Aberdeen lol. After the tour we all piled into taxis and went to dinner. We had a great time talking and eating (for free) on School Hill in town. It's funny to see that place when I'm not going to RGpoo union or a club lol. I really love Bri, we had an awesome time explaining to our American friends about how much we love Aberdeen and how we love our Scottish friends and all sorts of things. it was a very silly dinner, especially with the sticky toffee pudding that Bri and I shared date-style lol. We actually even convinced the 4 other Americans to come to our union and hang out with us and meet our Scottish friends. It all worked out really nice, actually. Bri, Kelsie, Zoe, Lindsay, and I go to union and sat down with some people we knew, and then all of a sudden the other Americans show up and all through the night different groups of our friends kept showing up. When my Bulgarians and Johanne showed up, I kind of could have killed them lol they all really love to remind me of silly things I've done. They think it's hilarious... I honestly don't know what they are going to for entertainment when I go home! They didn't stay too long, though and I was happy to see that my Scottish friends were talking with the other Americans and they seemed to be having a lot of fun lol. We all had a great time ogling at Beautiful William the bartender lol and discussing how there is so much man love/girl love in our group. Seriously Kelsie, Bri, Zoe, Lindsay, and I discuss marrying each other so Bri and I can have citizenship. Zoe and I actually exchanged vows on Friday lol so it's official. AND Kelsie definitely kissed me on the cheek, so it is all very exciting lol. Another interesting topic that always seems to come up are boobs. It's really quite funny lol. Other people would think my group and I are crazy, but at least the Americans seemed to find it all amusing lol. After union closed, the Americans went home and most of the group went back to South House for a little. I had a fun time trying to explain Matisyahu to everyone lol, but that was clarified later on facebook. I love the random little facebook chats that ensue after good nights.

Saturday was a really great day. It took a while to get started, especially since Bri was practically stuck in South House lol. But we went and met the Americans at the Maritime Museum, after some confusion with the buses and finding the museum lol. We had a lot of fun chatting with the Americans about the night before, and then we started our little trip to Mackie's farm in the country. Since there were only 8 students, 2 professors, and a really lovely, grandmotherly tour guide, we got to ride on a cute little bus. Bri and I of course assumed position in the back row and we drove the 45 minutes to the farm. It was really nice to get out of the city for a little. the countryside around Aberdeen is really beautiful, with expansive fields and rolling hills that grow to mountains. There's also a lot of thick forests that really make it feel otherworldly. We enjoyed listening to all the chatting of the Angela Lansbury-esk tour guide lol and then we arrived at Mackie's farm. I knew it was going to be a great day, but it got exponentially better with immediately receiving free ice cream lol. We listened to the head of the Mackie family, Mackie's is a family run dairy farm that uses only renewable energy, tell us all about the farm and when he went to American and the science behind the turbines and everything like that. It was really great. Then we took a tour of the farm and saw all the really high tech machines that make the ice cream containers and all the cows. Bri and I were really excited to see the cows lol it really reminded us of home. We were like frolicking around in the barn where all the happy cows were lol. I got really excited when I was looking and talking to one cow and it stuck it's head out at me and I scratched her nose and then turned to listen to Maitland Mackie talk some more about the cows and the cow licked my arm! LOL I kind of screamed but it was great. I then of course had to get a picture with my cow. Cow number 149 getting a little too fiesty lol. Then we walked some more and the excitement only mounted when we saw the maternity ward and then all the baby cows!!! Even the Angela Lansbury tour guide got really giggly at the baby cows lol. We saw really baby cows and then slightly bigger ones who were running around and bucking and all excited lol. It was ADORABLE. Then we walked up some hills to see the wind turbines and it was just getting to sunset (like 3:00) and the sunset was absolutely breathtaking! I can't even describe it. At the top of the hill we looked out over the valley and in the distance there was the Benihe (spelling??) peak and the sun was setting right besides it and the valley was all misty looking and it was such a beautiful and clear twilight that there were so many beautiful colors in the clouds. Seriously, imagine the best sunset ever. One with beautiful nature all involved, and then multiple it by at least 5. That's what I saw. Pictures don't do it justice. It was funny when we were walking up the hill and the tour guide said we have to be careful to stay on time, and Mr. Mackie said "well if that's so we better run!" lol so we all ran up the hill. Even Mr. Mackie and Hemish lol. We got a lot of pictures on the top of the hill and went inside the wind turbine. 13 people comfortably fit in it... it was kind of like a space ship I think lol. There are absolutely colossal and when you stand inside you can just feel the power pulsing, it's really cool. Our bus driver drove the van (somehow) to the top of the hill and he even came in and heard Mr. Mackie explain how it all works and stuff lol. Bri and I took some nice pictures together and had a really great time chatting about how wonderful Scotland is and how we never want to leave. The other Americans totally agreed with us lol.  When we had all piled into the car and genuinely thanked Mr. Mackie for everything, we started making out way back to Aberdeen city. We drove around the harbor and saw all the ships lit up and the city looked really pretty. We then stopped and walked around the old fishing village part of footdee (pronounced fuh-tee... I know lol). It was really cute with how little the houses were and how they were right by the sea. We also got to see a lot of ships go in and out of the port, "on queue" according to the driver and tour guide lol. So it was a very nice and fulfilling day out seeing new things :) I really liked when we drove by the big lighthouse that's on the top of the hill right outside the city. It was really old and pretty looking and there were wonderful views of Aberdeen city from it lol. We then said goodbye to all the other Americans and Bri and I did a little last minute shopping for going out clothes at Union Square. It was all lit up with christmas lights and it was really festive and pretty lol. Then we met up with Kelsie, Zoe, and Lindsay for date night at pizza hut. It was a lot of fun. SO many silly things were talked about, like the clap, babies, and "that's not how it went down in my head" lol. We had fun planning what we were going to wear tonight and talking about playing kings... and watching the little boy next to us with how family lol he had a harmonica and a buildabear and a sword and he as beyond cute. We were watching him like crazy people, but it was ok lol. After our date night, we all went home and got ready to go and play kings with with boys. But there were some issues getting out and then the boys weren't actually there and that kind of sucked. So we ended up feeling kind of shitty and going to union before catching the bus into town. When we finally found the boys at RGpoo we kind of decided the best thing to do was buy a lot of drinks and have a good time lol. So things kind of got really messy, literally crazy. I was a major creeper shield for everyone though. Apparently I yelled at some guy to back off and really got in his face lol... "Lydia be crazy". We had a good time dancing, though. Bri and I freaked out when the DJ played "One Week" lol. But all of a sudden shit really hit the fan. Zoe, Lindsay, Bri, and I had no idea where the other half of our group disappeared to, and we had a really difficult time trying to get home. Lol apparently Bri was freaking out about where her purse was when we were in the taxi line, and then all of a sudden I said "wait, here's your purse". I honestly don't remember putting it on my arm, but it's hilarious that it was randomly there. We had a good time in the taxi line, all sorts of crazy things happened lol. I especially liked how Bri's hair looked when Zoe tied it back, and how Callum explained that everyone throws up on union street lol. We then all piled in a taxi, and despite some little issues along the way, we made it home perfectly fine lol. We all get by with a little help from our friends.

Sunday was a very boring day. Literally like 2 hours after I woke up it was getting dark, already. That really throws off my productivity level lol. But I've decided that sunday is onesie day, and that makes life better. I had a good time talking with my flatmates about the night before lol we always have such silly chats. At least this time we weren't talking about flowers and gardening, this time. Although Mina did get to pet some dogs and I am very jealous! I really love them lol. They can really lighten up crap situations. I was feeling pretty shit on Sunday, but talking with Mina really helped... stupid feelings. I never want to leave them :( Lol we had a really difficult time figuring out what we were going to have for dinner and some crazy antics ensued. Mainly involving delusion from lack of food, and I discovered that I can climb the walls to the ceiling lol. But Mina and I went to the keystore and picked up some fish sticks (fish dicks) for dinner. On the way to the keystore (for the second time in my onesie), Mina and I were really chatting away and we went around a corner and all of a sudden there was this big black guy right in front of me. I screamed in the poor guys face, and had a mini heart attack. He looked at me like I was crazy, and Mina laughed at me for like hours after that. She wondered how a ninja monkey can get so scared... "didn't you hear him coming"... "nope". Lol it was really funny, though. I just got such a fright from some guy being right in front of me. After dinner I went to Bri and Kelsie's flat so Zoe and I could work on the Vikings! essay. We had a good time talking, and I must say that her phrase "amaze-balls" is really catching on lol I say it all the time now. It was kind of cruddy working on Vikings! but I felt good about actually doing something for it, even though I didn't write anything for my essay yet lol. When I went home I had some surprise cheering up from a friend I hadn't talked to in a while and that was really great. I love those little things in life that show you how much other people care about you. Especially after all the places you might go, the people who stay in touch are the ones who really matter.

A Quick Week

Monday was a pretty normal day. Nothing much really happened... I woke up kind of early and I was really tired and went to the library to finish my dry labs for inorganic chemistry. Those really weren't much fun, so I wasn't too excited about the actual lab this week. I had my tutorial and then lecture and then went to the hub. I met up with Toni and Johanne and some other Bulgarian friends and we talked about Name Days lol. My Bulgarian name day is March 23 and I want to celebrate it for sure! I then had my Arthur lecture and that was great since we had a different professor and I like him a lot. He is always good fun talking about some of the more interesting/strange stories with Arthur. It just really sucks when my 3:00 lecture finishes and it is nearly dark outside... it is really hard to get motivated to do a lot of work lol. But I went back to my flat and worked on some chemistry stuff, obviously putting off working on my essays. Jordan made dinner for flatmates and I. We had a good time helping her cook lol. She made pigs in a blanket and the dough was kind of frozen so we had to like play with it like putty in our hands to make it dough-like. Dinner was really good and we ended up talking and hanging out for a long time. Then I went o Bri's flat and I ended up kind of sitting by myself in the kitchen for a little while everyone else was getting ready. I ended up listening to a lot of 50s/60s oldies that I love and that made me feel really nostalgic... I really like listening to music like that. I was sitting in the kitchen on Kelsie's computer putting on a great playlist and she came in and sang a little with me. We then went to union for a little, but not too much exciting happened. We got there kind of late and just sat talking for a while and then cleared out lol. We might have visited the boys at South House... but I honestly don't remember really. This week has been just a blur.

Tuesday morning I actually went to my Vikings! lecture in the morning with Zoe and Catherine. I actually noticed other people I knew in the lecture that I hadn't noticed before. Although they are kind of doucey lol. I went to the library after the lecture to pass the time before my chemistry lecture at 1:00. I worked a good amount on my Arthur essay, although I'm still kind of wary about writing it lol. I know what I want to say but everything has kind of jumbled together and since I'm a perfectionist I know that it will take me forever to get exactly what I want lol. But I went to my lecture in the Meston science building and got lost trying to find my course coordinator's office... the building is so oddly laid out and huge that even the secretary had difficulty trying to direct me and failed lol. It's just funny when you are walking around in the bowels of the building and definitely smell traces of formaldehyde and other telltale chemicals lol. I then went home and made a potato to eat, was promptly made fun of, and then did some chemistry work. Later on I ate dinner with my flatmates and then went to Bri's flat for a little. Bri, Zoe, and I then went to union and we met up with Kelsie and her twin sisters and their friends. We had a good time sitting with them and talking. It's really interesting to see how similar Kelsie and her sisters. After a while all our other friends showed up and it was quite a huge group of us sitting at the small table. It was a really fun night, especially since Kelsie's sisters were so interested in finding out what Kelsie does at university lol. Basically we kind of had a crazy Tuesday night and it got even crazier when Kelsie went into town with her sisters and the rest of us went back to South House. We played some video games and I was absolutely awful at them lol. The guys found that pretty amusing. Catherine had a bottle of wine and I basically drank the entire bottle lol and randomly jordan showed up and she said that I was pretty hilarious. At least I wasn't the only one. Bri and I had a good time talking with all the boys, and they had a good time laughing at us about not having "normal" things like Jelly Tots (sugar covered gummies) and Knik Knax (snack packs) lol. After settling some discrepancies with the bass player, I dragged myself home. Apparently I made a potato, stood in a very funny "supportive" position, and narrated eating my potato lol. Mina, Toni, and Johanne thought I was absolutely hilarious. They had a good time reminding me about it the next day.

I didn't go to my one class on Wednesday. Instead I stayed in and did a lot of work on my Arthur essay. I have a good start, although it's definitely only a preliminary draft lol. Mina, Toni, Johanne, and Jordan  had a good time talking with me about my crazy antics lol and then we kind of planned what to do about Thanksgiving. I can't believe that Thanksgiving is next week! This semester is literally flying by! I absolutely can't believe it! Bri reminded me that we have one month before we leave and I nearly cried... we plotted to make a time machine/ teleportation device lol. I talked with Erika and she gave me some good advice about cooking Thanksgiving in the UK. It will be a lot of work, but it should be a lot of fun. Mina is very excited at the prospect of eating it lol she keeps reminding me about it and asking me if I'm getting my essays done in time. Lol I'm going to be really busy next week with finishing my essays and working on my labs, that I don't think I will be able to make dinner on Thursday. I will probably do it on Saturday or Sunday. Hopefully shopping for everything will go well. I went over to Bri's flat a little later and hung out there for a while. Then we went to South House to visit the boys and talk for a little. they were going to watch a scary movie so I promptly left lol. I then worked some more on my Arthur essay and went to bed. For being so lazy, it was actually a productive day. I just wish I wouldn't be so busy this weekend with an Arcadia trip around Aberdeen. Trying to find time to write my essays is getting harder by the moment.

Thursday morning I was kind of dreading chemistry lab, but it actually turned out to be quite a lot of fun. There was only one other person in my group and we had a good time working together and making mistakes together lol. It was interesting trying to use the UV-Vis machine, and we were those people in lab that had all the lab assistants/ professors talking to us and having a good time. Having chemistry lab in the morning was really nice. It wasn't dark when I left and the day felt really long! It was great :) I then had some lectures and in my Vikings! lecture I received a bunch of texts from some creep who was absolutely positive that I had any intention of talking to. It was weird and funny. After lecture, Zoe, Catherine, and I walked back to Bri's flat and Zoe and I had strudel and ice cream waiting for us. Lol lots of funny jokes about Lindsay being my eager little housewife ensued. i was hanging out with the Scottish girls, when Kelsie and Lindsay started saying how it would be so much easier if the "americans" were actually weirdos that just hung out with themselves and I said "I would have rather loved and lost than never have loved at all!" LOL it was great. And it's very true. I love them all and although I know it would have been so much easier to leave if I didn't love them so much, I wouldn't change anything about it. I just hope our friendships last and we can visit every once in a while :) After leaving Bri's flat, I talked with Mina about my day and she had a good time laughing about me and my fire-setting abilities. Lol "lydia strikes again!"... apparently this is impressive :p lol a little later Mina and I had another interesting chat. She asked me "what bird talks in the night" and then she made this purring-ish sound lol and I thought she was talking about a dove, but she said no it's spelled C-U-C-K-O-O lol SO I had to explain how cuckoo sounds so she could write her poem. In all fairness, it was a very good poem. Although whether "insects" and "mistakes" really rhymes, I'm not too sure lol. It was funny though :) Then Toni, Mina, and I were sitting in the kitchen and we started talking about family guy and we watched some really funny clips regarding the bird is the word lol. The rest of the night we basically sang that at each other and danced funny lol. After hanging out with my flatmates, I went to union wit Kelsie, Bri, and Zoe. We had a good time sitting around and talking, although there were definitely a group of like 14/15 year old kids there. It was really annoying because they were obviously prepubescent and when they got drunk they started acting like complete idiots. It was kind of funny watching them, but really annoying that they had the audacity to go to a university bar. I can't believe they weren't ID'd. We made them feel pretty uncomfortable, though lol. Bri was pretty merciless. Some of our other friends showed up and we talked until union closed and then went back to South House for a little. Idk why but when we were at union we had some pretty interesting chats... body parts was a big topic of conversation lol and lesbianism lol. You can definitely tell that we have friends with no shame whatsoever lol but that's ok. Sacrifice anything for the sake of banter!

WHERE IS YOUR GNOME?!

I definitely could have slept all day Saturday... and it really felt like I did, actually. The sun was setting when I was just waking up lol. I heard everyone else start to move and I was super curious to hear what they had to say about the previous night, so I dragged myself out of bed and went to the kitchen to hang out with everyone. We had a great time talking and laughing about the night before... some of us had some REALLY good stories lol. After laughing at eachother and talking, I decided to get some work done. I went over to Bri's flat and listened to their stories about the previous night and planned some more stuff for my essay. After a while we decided that we should go to Morrisons and get some food, so we had a nice time going into town. We ended up getting a lot of stuff at Morrisons and nearly had an epic fail trying to carry everything home lol. I went back to my flat and Toni, Mina, Johanne, Jo, and I talked in the kitchen for a little, it's always funny to hear what they have to say about my random things. I was sitting in my room reading an email and looking at stuff on facebook, and I started giggling and laughing to myself and I hear everyone in the kitchen just stop talking, pause for a second, and then start laughing. Johanne said the best part about living with me are all the random things I do lol but I know they all love my "party showers" When I was showering yesterday, I was in the middle of a heartfelt rendition of Hakuna Matata and Jo barges in on my shower to sing a little with me lol. They are all amazing :) after I got ready, I went over to Bri's flat but everyone was feeling kind of shite. We weren't really crazy into going out, but we were going to go anyways for Zoe's birthday. That mood definitely changed when we got to the boys flat, though lol. We played some Kings, and some hilarious rules and events took place... I especially love the rule about no names and hearing all the phrases people come up with lol. Then Bri made a rule about taking off the little gnome on your glass before drinking, and since I was mated with Kelsie I drank and when she was about to take a sip I yelled "where is your gnome?!" at her lol she was quite startled, but it was worth it lol. Beats from heaven is one of my favorites, though. I literally can't keep a straight face for that... it was just a great round a kings lol. We all had a really great time hanging out together, and we got pumped to go into town. When we were leaving to catch the bus, there were some issues with trying to make Greg come to town with us, but he ended up staying with a sick Bri. The rest of us caught the bus, and I must say it was a very rowdy bus. There was a group of guys on it that Kelsie and I kind of know, but they are kind of arrogant jerks so a lot of bantering and chanting was going on lol. It was all really funny, though. It was hilarious with how my guy friends kept joining in the other sides chants against me... they really were out to defend my honor lol. We ran into that group of guys at RGU (RGpoo) union and they apologized, so it's all good lol. We didn't stay too long at that union bar, we all wanted to go into an actual club. We started out at Exodus and had a great time there! There were only 7 of us out, but since we are such a close group of friends it was really a lot of fun. All sorts of memorable events happened and some amazing pictures were taken lol. Kissing and face punching, a random old guy stripping as he sang to us, fun chats, tequila, hilarious but adorable pictures, dancing!, and acting silly were just a couple of things that went down at Exodus. Then we walked to Priory and had a really great time there, as well. Priory is a lot more crowded and creeper filled than Exodus, so that made it kind of sketchier. From what i remember, we still had a lot of fun. Lindsay, Kelsie, Zoe and I may have made a grind train lol and we of course all danced like maniacs! I had my first jager bomb and that was absolutely delicious lol. We stayed there for a while and then headed to McDonald's for some much needed sustenance. I love going to McDonald's with Lindsay because she is such a boss at ordering, as I apparently said a lot last night lol. We all got food and had a good time sitting at a little table and eating. Some other stuff happened, and then we ran like crazy people to catch the last bus back to Hillhead. The bus driver was a bit of a jerk, though. We literally ran nearly the entire length of Union street to get that bus lol. I went back to South House with Kelsie to check on Bri and tell her about some of the crazy things from the night, and then I went back to my room and slept like no other.

I was unfortunately woken up kind of early by Joe calling me to apologize for his jerk friends like harassing us on the bus lol. I'm not going to lie when I woke up, there definitely was alcohol still in my system lol. I had a fun time talking with my flatmates about everything that happened the night before and some other stuff. I explained how it was such a onesie day and we had a good time talking about how strange Bulgarian is lol. Like for "by the way", they say "btv" pronounced "buhtuhvuh" lol and IMDB and OMG are the same. Very random, but still really interesting. Then I went to wake up Lindsay and Kelsie. They felt about the same as I did... still drunk lol and when Kelsie and I went to South House to wake up Bri, we saw that the guys were basically feeling the same as well lol. We had a great time showing her all the pictures from the night before, some of them are completely priceless lol. Then we went to the kitchen and talked with Andrew and Christian for a while. I love talking about really awesome evenings the morning after... it's great to be reminded of things and hear other people's stories lol. Kelsie, Bri, and I then went back to Bri's flat and we kind of did some work, but as the day wore on, surprise pain kept creeping in. The bruises aren't too bad, but poor Kelsie really did a number to her ankle. It really swelled and she could hardly walk on it. It's just hilarious that we walked to South House and she was totally fine, but then it hit her all of a sudden. While we were in the kitchen, Kelsie's really sweet Lithuanian flatmate (I have no idea how to spell her name) came in and we talked about how difficult english is and talking about other languages and learning languages, as well. Kelsie and Lindsay said that when Scottish kids are really small one of the first things they learn to say is "ta" for thank you and it sounds absolutely adorable lol. But after hanging out in the kitchen for a while, I went back to my flat and ate dinner with everyone. Mina made pancakes and bacon, and it was so good! We even had sliced strawberries! I love our family dinners so much! We really had a good time talking about all sorts of stuff. Then I went back over to the other flat, and basically while everyone else was getting ready to go to the boys' flat (I was still in my onesie) I DJ-ed with showtunes and Disney. It was great. Les Mis was a big hit, and Lindsay, Zoe, and Kelsie heard first-hand the beginnings of my one man Les Mis show lol. Then we went to South House and watched The Beach (a kind of creepy movie) and the Lion King. The Lion King was absolutely amazing to watch with everyone! James had never seen it before, actually, but I bet we were really annoying to watch it with because we were all singing and talking about it lol. Even thought I had literally just watched that movie less than 2 weeks ago, I had a great time and everyone definitely knew it lol. I even noticed something that I never had before, Simba and Nala purr right before the "can you feel the love tonight" scene! Lol I eagerly voiced that thought and was laughed out, oh well. After that we all split to go to bed. I came home and noticed how gross my pumpkin was getting and threw it out the window lol. I even saw a cat walking around outside and got really excited and try to call for it, but that didn't work out at all lol. But anyways, I'm amazed that another weekend has gone by already! The time is literally flying, it scares me.

DA 4 LYF --> 1D 4 LYF

Thursday was a very productive day, actually. I love those type of days lol. I spent a couple of hours in the library working on my Arthur research and then I had lectures, which were boring as usual. Honestly I was the only one of the group of my friends to go to the Vikings! and it was awful... I wrote down some initial thoughts for the essay and I could have cried. It will literally be the biggest piece of shit I've ever written. Ugh... then I started thinking about how I haven't touched a piano in about 2 months and I felt extremely depressed. I miss practicing and singing so much. I'm going to find the practice rooms here. I would love to play and have Kelsie play :) I had a fair amount of chemistry work to do, so the busy work definitely helped with my mood lol. Then I went to Bri's flat for a pizza night and we had a good time chatting about all sorts of things. We started talking about the Hangover, and we came to the conclusion that Bri is Phil, Kelsie is Doug, I'm Stu, and Zoe is Alan lol. It's unfortunate that Zoe hasn't actually seen the movie so she couldn't get mad at us for saying that she is Alan lol. After our pizza party we went to union for quiz night, and that was really interesting. There were only five of us on a team, and we epically lost lol. We had an awesome team name, though... Dumbledore's Army. There was a mystery round that we really hoped was going to be about Harry Potter, but it was about Friends and that kind of sucked lol. Literally at the second to last round we had 25 points, and a team that dropped out two rounds before us had 24 points lol. The bar staff were making fun of us lol. Andrew and Greg ended up showing up towards the end, but they really weren't much help. We were really worried that one of our team members would have to do the booby prize, someone has to chug a half meter of beer lol and whatever they don't finish gets poured on their head. But apparently the booby prize goes to the second last team... we were kind of freaking out and poor Kelsie would have had to do it in front of everyone at the bar. After the quiz we all hung out in the bar and had some good chats... I really love knowing how close I am with my friends here. It's nice to be able to laugh at each other for stupid things lol :) Then we went back to South House for a little and kind of yelled at the other guys for not coming to help us. Then I went home to do some more chemistry work and go to bed. I wanted to spend some more time in the library the next day.

Friday started absolutely horribly. I was woken up by an angry jerk porter at 8:00 am who was knocking on everyone's doors to "check the fire alarms". But really he just wanted to yell at everyone and interrogate us about who is smoking in the kitchen and setting off the little beepy fire alarm. He was such a jerk and I got really sassy with him about coming in so early and yelling at us and invasion of privacy and attempting to dispose of personal items. He kind of got in my face and I just stared him down and said no one is smoking in the kitchen and I don't know who's lighter and stuff that is. He made me so mad that I couldn't fall back asleep again so I got dressed and headed to the library early. It was totally mingin outside and I was really happy I made it to uni without getting rained on and then I realized that I didn't have my student ID card so I couldn't get in to return my book that was due in like 10 minutes. So I ended up running back to my room and getting all disgusting trying to find my card, I even checked my pants from the other day. I couldn't find it so I went back to the library (in the rain) and frantically asked an info woman about where I can get a new card. But apparently I barged in and made an idiot of myself during the moment of silence for Armistice Day lol. So that was great, and then I had to pay a tener for another card. My card didn't immediately work to swipe in at the gate for the library and I literally looked stupid lol the poor info lady was kind of startled earlier by my freak out and she definitely looked at my like I had issues when I tried unsuccessfully to get through the gate lol. I calmed down and did some work in the library before my lecture, and then I went back to the library to work on my crap labs. That was really shitty and frustrating, but at least I got them mostly done. I walked home, angry knocked (like normal) on Bri's door and vented a little to them all lol. They basically just laughed at me... and then went home. I literally lost it when I had like a flash back and realized that I actually put my ID card into my jeans, not my black stretchy pants! I now have two ID cards... fabulous. But to calm down, I ate and cuddled with my donkey and watched Aladdin lol. That was really great to make me feel better. After some relaxing, I did more work and then got ready to go out with Toni, Mina, Johanne, and Jordan. We were acting kind of crazy because we all had kind of shit days so we kind of had a power hour lol. Then we all went to union, and that was literally crazy. We sat with Bri, Kelsie, Lindsay, and Zoe and we were definitely not on the same level as them at all... it was kind of ridiculous lol. But we had a pretty good time there and we even got Lindsay to come out with us to Exodus! We had a good bus ride into town, with a lot of talk about going to Bulgaria in the summer. I'm seriously considering it :) Then we finally got to Exodus and it was kind of dead at first, but it really picked up! We all had a great time dancing and acting crazy lol. We stayed there for like 4 hours, but I was sad that the DJ didn't play the song Johanne and I asked for. It was a really interesting night, especially when I saw Greg come out of nowhere lol. It took absolutely forever to get back home, though. I think it was worth it, though. We all had an interesting night, it made for great stories on Saturday lol.

Oh Karaoke night, how we love you!

Definitely the feeling of waking up super early didn't really last. When 8:00 rolled around and my alarm went off, there was no way I could be bothered to get out of my cocoon of warmth to go to the most pointless class in history. So I set my alarm back and decided that today would be a day that I get a lot of random work done, so I could start researching for my essays tomorrow. I did a lot of work for my chemistry classes and finished dissecting my primary source about Arthur in medieval Welsh hagiography. I even washed my clothes AND vacuumed my room lol. I was pretty much on a roll, and it really felt great to do work. As great as it felt to get the busy work out of the way, I definitely wasn't looking too great lol. I was stomping all over Hillhead like a troll in black boots and baggy brown sweat pants. At one point when I was carrying Bri's vacuum back to my flat to clean (ours is broken),  I walked by a guy and he definitely looked startled to see me lol. After doing all sorts of work, Toni started cooking dinner for us so I helped cut potatoes and do little things like that. She made schnitzel for us and it was really awesome. But definitely the funniest part was how excited Toni and Mina got when deciding to make the Shepherd's salad tomorrow... you would never know how euphoric a salad can make a group of girls lol. But after our family dinner, I went to Bri's flat. We hung out in the kitchen for a little. After drinking some nasty Black Current sourz, I made apple juice come out of Bri's nose with my Jabbah the Hut impersonation lol. Very good times lol. Then we went to union for Karaoke, and even though we got there kind of late we didn't hear any music. After I voiced this problem, Zoe said "Lydia, the party doesn't start until you walk in!". Literally right after she said that, the music started. It was unusually dead in the bar, but that definitely didn't affect our fun lol. We grabbed our usual corner area, and met up with our usual friends and let the Karaoke-ing begin! It was a really great night. We all sang and danced and had a great time lol. The best part was how it was basically just my friends singing. It was a lot of fun. I can't believe that I sang "Like a Virgin" in front of a bar full of people lol. One of the best parts was how basically all the bar staff know us now (since we are there all the time) and they say random comments to you. Like the one guy who saw me try to fall asleep on the booth and then accused me of spewing, said "you aren't going to puke again, are you? you promised you wouldn't get sick again!" when I was trying to order some water. Lol but anyways after listening to Martyn and Kelsie sing, and then dancing like a fool when Kelsie sang Time Warp, the night kind of got messy. I ended up climbing over a toilet stall to unlock a door and chilling outside when someone decided to crawl out a window lol. But the night ended in a nice way when I sang Summer Nights from grease with my friend Liam. It was great since my entire group was up there singing the back up parts and dancing like a group of crazy people lol. They are the best! After union closed, I went back to South House for a little, only to make sure that the boys would actually sing next time at karaoke. Hopefully we will go the the Bobbin on saturday. Money goes to the best karaoke performer! woo!

Today has been quite productive for me, actually. I got up early with every intention of going to my tutorial and then going to the library for some research. But on the way to my tutorial I found out that it was cancelled, so I got an extra hour at the library! The library is really nice and hi-tech. It felt really great to just sit down and get through a lot of work. I also really like the feeling of libraries, and this one is magnificent, so it was that much better lol :) I feel pretty boss for mastering how to find books and borrow them lol. After working in the library for a few hours, I went to the hub for some food and then went to Bri's flat. Reminiscing about karaoke last night was a lot of fun. It's always funny to hear about different things in detail that you don't completely remember. After that I went back to my flat and did some more work and read some Breaking Dawn lol. I then helped Mina and Toni cook dinner. Mina made lasagna and Toni made Shepherd's salad. Both were really hardy and delicious lol. AND I finally properly learned how to make the gravy sauce that Mina makes! It was a very fancy dinner, served in two courses which was definitely a good thing because we would have way over stuffed ourselves with eating the egg, meat, cheese, and vegetable salad and cheesy meat lasagna all at once lol. But Toni, Mina, Johanne, and I had a really nice time sitting in the kitchen and talking about random things. It's always nice to have relaxing and fun conversations when you're eating dinner lol. After eating, I strutted over to Bri's flat in my onesie to see what they were up to. Lindsay made a big deal about me wearing a trench-like coat and a onesie underneath lol. But I suppose it's much more common for a girl to wear something sexy under her big coat, as opposed to a onesie lol. After some funny talks and nearly unzipping my onesie to make a point, we had a night in. A very much needed night in :)

The title of this post is a direct quote from Kelsie Ann Hamilton :)

Really Love Your Peaches

SO I was really looking forward to sleeping for more or less the entire day on Sunday. I literally felt like I didn't fall asleep until somewhere in the 10:30 am region. But Bri texted me nice and early (in the 12:30 region) reminding me that we had to go to town to get the rest of Zoe's birthday present. So I dragged myself out of bed, threw on the first clothes I saw, and walked out the door in less than 5 minutes. It was pretty ridiculous, especially the part about running to catch the bus. But we had a nice time quickly going to Morrisons and getting the cake and stuff for Zoe. Carrying the groceries back was not so great, though. My arms felt full of lead, but it was totally worth it. Zoe really liked her gifts and the poem card I made her. That was such a struggle to make, the creative juices were NOT flowing on Sunday lol. But after hanging out with everyone in Bri's flat, I went home (with every intention of doing some work before going out to union) but I ended up skyping with Max for over an hour. That was really awesome. I miss him a shit ton! I can't believe he's in college already! Lol but after skyping (instead of doing something productive), I helped Mina make a really tasty chicken, spinach, and cream sauce dinner. It was absolutely amazing! She really needs to give me her recipes lol. When we were cooking she said she's definitely going to teach me how to make the gravy that I love lol. I still need to give her the chocolate chip cookie recipe! She keeps reminding me about it. During dinner, Toni, Mina,  Johanne, and I talked about all sorts of things lol. I love the nicknames that we come up with, especially the ones like Flower that are so fitting lol. I had a great time hanging out with them, I'm going to miss them all so much. When I went over to Bri's flat later we decided to listen to some Christmas music while we were waiting to go out to union. That kind of brought down my mood... listening to the Christmas music really reminds me of being home with my family. I'm not always so conscious that I miss them, but listening to that music really made me realize it. I played some Lakeview Madrigal music for Kelsie (the one where I have the solo) and that really made me feel nostalgic lol. But we all cheered up to go to union and celebrate Zoe's birthday some more lol. Bri played some really American music, like Steve Miller Band and Toby Keith lol and that was kind of ridiculous. It's really pretty funny that we are always at the union bar, but I like having a place to go where we all can go at the end of the day and hang out. After union closed, we went back to South House for a little and we ended up listening to a ton of sad country songs for some reason. I guess Bri felt like Martyn needed to learn some, but it just made us all feel like crap actually. So after Zoe and I left, I decided to watch the Breaking Dawn trailer to cheer myself up and that definitely worked. That movie is going to be ridiculous and I can't wait to see it!

Monday was a pretty normal day. I had my physical chemistry tutorial and then lecture. While I was sitting in the lecture, I literally watched the shadows from the sun move across one wall. It was 1:30ish in the afternoon and the sun was setting. It's crazy how dark it gets here in the afternoon! But I was cheered up when Zoe found me in the Hub and I found Bri, Kelsie, and Jo. It was nice sitting with them before my Arthur lecture. After my classes I went to Bri's flat and hung out there for a little before going back to my flat for dinner. Jo cooked Shepherd's pie for us and it was pretty good. It was fun sitting and eating in the kitchen with everyone. Callum came over to eat with us and he must have felt kind of awkward lol. We were talking about cute youtube videos, babies, and cats lol. We ended up sitting in the kitchen for a few hours watching all sorts of videos. It was hilarious. Callum showed us this one about a sloth crossing the street and it was HILARIOUS! I was the only one who found it really super funny, they all just laughed at my reaction lol. But for some reason that was like the best video I had seen! We also talked about random topics, like the Cold War. I described it quite well as a conversation between two people, kind of like "what are you doing??"... "nothing, what are you doing??" lol. Then somehow youtube came back into the conversation... it's kind of hard to stay away from the laughing babies and cute cats. But out of the blue we get a flyer from the union bar saying that there is Karaoke on Tuesday! I pretty much freaked out lol Karaoke is the best! After ardently admitting how much I love Karaoke and everyone saying that they will go and be my groupies, I went over to Bri's flat with Jo. We stayed there for a little bit before going to South House and watching School of Rock. It was nice to sit and watch a movie and relax with everyone like that lol. The boys hadn't seen me in my onesie before, but they of course approved. They understand the magic of onesies lol. After the movie was done I went home to bed. I had every intention of waking up nice and early and getting things done on Tuesday lol. That definitely didn't play out as well as I was hoping. Aberdeen weather just makes me really tired, and more or less not feel like moving lol. I haven't felt sunshine in days. It's just very overcast in the morning/early afternoon and by the time the sun kind of peaks through the clouds it like 3:00 and it's setting... it's kind of depressing.

Remember, Remember

Friday was basically a normal day. In the Vikings! tutorial we talked about essay writing and bibliographies. Generally I really like organizing my sources and making the bibliography, but I'm really frustrated with how different the format is here. It's just going to be a pain to worry about whether    I'm getting everything technically correct. At one point the tutor (Lisa Wotherspoon who literally looks like Cheryl from Miss Congeniality) asked what we think is acceptable for a first class mark. I literally muttered under my breath to Kelsie "Be amazing" and somehow Lisa heard me and laughed lol at least she has a good sense of humor. I actually went to Vikings! lecture, even though no one else went with me lol. I sat in the back with Momo (one of my Bulgarian friends) and we had a good time laughing about how random the lecture was, and looking at the people that fell asleep. The topic was Horses and Vikings... least to say it was absolutely riveting. Apparently stallion fights are a great form of entertainment. I hung out in the hub while waiting for my next lecture. It felt good to do some work and plan my essay for the Arthur class. I'm not too worried about writing the essay, just getting a hold of the sources I need. After my inorganic chemistry lecture, I did some more work for my essay and then went to town with Bri, Kelsie, and Lindsay. We had a really nice time walking around and then we went to TGIFriday's for a date night dinner lol. We had a really nice talking about our families and things like that. It's funny how you can feel the moment when you have really bonded with people. It's like a moment when you know that you can talk with these people and they will listen and not judge you, but understand. It's really great when you get to a level of friendship like that with another person. We had a perfect viewing position for all the cute babies that went by with their parents. We were hardcore pedo creeping, but in a good way lol. We all love babies. After our date night, we went to union with Zoe and her sister, Katie. We had a really good time pre-celebrating Zoe's birthday. Before we got to union, we literally made Bri take her furry, biohazardous pumpkin out and we disposed of it in rapey park which was a lot of fun lol. We had a good time at union, though. We played some great music and had a lot of fun singing! :) Some silly shenanigans went down, as well. But overall it was a very tame night.

Saturday I slept like a dead person. It's really difficult to get anything done now-a-days since I sleep in so long during the day that by the time I actually get around to working the sun is setting and darkness is encroaching. I'm definitely not going to get used to how short the days are here. But I made a really nice breakfast (definitely putting off work lol). I actually made french toast and it was really delicious. I made too much, so I took some over for Kelsie and Lindsay and they really enjoyed it as well lol. At one point Lindsay turned to me and asked me if I would marry her, I immediately answered yes. Lol a quick way to acquire citizenship in Scotland sounds fabulous to me lol. After brunch, I skyped with Erika and that was a lot of fun, especially seeing her babies and Bob lol. Ugh I really miss her and I'm pretty sad that I'm missing Thanksgiving at home this year. It's really a special time for us to be home in Ohio and have that time together. But I'm really looking forward to Christmas. I just hope that everything works out like how I hope. After skyping, I did some more work and then quickly remembered how I was supposed to go to the Guy Fawks firework show at the beach, so I showered and ate some dinner like a tornado (my flatmates thought it was hilarious) and was out the door in less than an hour. Unfortunately, I hurried for no real reason since the fireworks started later than we thought and we had to wait for everyone. I had a good time hanging out in South House with everyone, though. Just a small group of us went to the beach, but it was a lot of fun. It was a really clear but chill evening and the sea looked so pretty. It was an absolutely beautiful night and we had a great time walking down. I'm really going to miss everyone, and it makes it even worse when everyone starts to say how they are going to really miss you as well lol. All of a sudden we are all really good, silly friends, hopefully it will last. I'm sure it will. The fireworks were literally minds blowing. We were standing nearly right under them and the show was amazing! The finally was unlike anything I've ever seen. I'm really glad Bri was taking videos lol. You randomly here silly comments like "Holy cow" (me) or "At the end I felt like I was in another dimension" lol (Eddie). Overall it was a very patriotic and wonderful time. I'm so happy that I went, it was pretty moving. All that was missing were the two fireworks at the end like in V for Vendetta. After a nice (but long) walk back to Hillhead, we got ready and went to union to really celebrate Zoe's birthday. Everyone had congregated and we had a timer for when it struck midnight. We immediately started screaming and singing happy birthday lol. Zoe got her gifts and her reaction to Kelsie's present was absolutely perfect, she started crying! It was a really great night and I'm happy that I was there to celebrate with everyone. It was a great night. :)

Unloved by Faith

Wednesday was pretty much like any other wednesday. My Arthur tutorial was pretty cool, I like reading about the actual tales or Arthur, and not just the allusions to him in hagiography. There was a little extra twist at the end of the tutorial when the fire alarm randomly went off. I got such a fright I nearly fell out of my chair lol. After my tutorial I got a lot of chemistry work done and that was great. I love having busy work to do lol. It makes me feel a lot less like a lazy shit. I went over to Bri's flat for a little later and did some more work over there with them all. While I was hanging out in the kitchen I read some hilarious facebook messages from my lovely wooster friends, who I really miss. Everyone really enjoyed Kara's bear shotgunning story, as well lol. I was going to start working on my essays, but it gets so dark at 4:30 and then I feel so unmotivated and just tired because of how dark it is. It really sucks. Also, I miss sitting in my room with Kara and just relaxing and doing work. It's hard to find a nice place to do work here. I feel way too isolated in my room, but there isn't really enough room in Bri's kitchen lol. So overall the essay situation is getting kind of scary, but I know that I will get them done fine. I have over three weeks still lol. So to overcome the depressing feeling of midnight black at 5:00, I watched the Lion King on youtube lol. That was such a win of an idea lol. Mina definitely enjoyed listening to Hakuna Matata. But then I was all emotional when Johanne introduced me to her Norwegian friend that was visiting lol. I explained that I was watching the Lion King and it was at the part when Simba is older and Mufasa appears to him in the clouds... so that somewhat cleared that up lol. Then we ate dinner and I went to Bri's flat. Kelsie, Bri, Zoe, Lindsay, and I headed to union and we had a good time chilling there and talking about all sorts of things. The movie topic was pretty hot, especially Disney movies lol. Then we got into the embarrassing moments and my newest story is really a crowd pleaser lol. Anyone reading this has to ask me about it because it's much better when I tell it... lol. I stole a Brother's cider poster from the bar and that made me super happy. I'm just glad that the scary-ish bartender (Ronan Wallace) didn't see me take it lol. Speaking of bar staff, we are at union so much that they barely even ask us what we want anymore. They think we are weirdos because we are union like everyday to close. We really enjoy watching some of them lol... but then we remember that they have CCTV behind the bar and they probably watch us, too lol. WHen we were kicked out of union ("alright girls, you have to go now"), Kelsie, Bri, and I went to South House to try and find out friends, but that was a fail. We even tried climbing in their windows, that generally works, but we just ended up looking like dodgy girls trying to break in to a flat lol. We really have an interesting friendship. Nothing bonds people like climbing in windows and sneaking around a ground floor flat right beside rapey park in the middle of the night lol.

Thursday started half an hour earlier than I anticipated with a surprise call from Kelsie asking me if I was going to lecture this morning. I was beyond confused and hung up on her after explaining that I slept in lol... then after some serious thinking about what day it was and my schedule, I called her back and asked what class she was going too... then I realized that I have my lab write up at 10. It was pretty funny, but she felt bad about waking me up. I appreciate the gesture anyways. It means a lot that they will track me down if I'm late lol. I had a pretty great time in my lab write up session, too. I ended up talking with the lab assistant about Diels-Alder reactions and organic chemistry and it was great. THEN my lab write up actually involved plotting out a reaction mechanism about nucleophilic addition to a ketone and I was super excited lol. No one else besides me had taken organic chemistry yet so I felt soooo legit. And I got a really good grade again lol. THEN in my inorganic chemistry lecture we have a new lecturer and with the new material we were reviewing some stuff. We were talking about redox reactions and the new lecturer was explaining oxidation and reduction and he said that in America they teach "Leo the Lion says GER" and I nearly freaked out lol AND when he got to the GER part he played a clip of a lion roaring! It was fabulous lol I absolutely loved it! Everyone else thought it was pretty funny, but definitely not to the extent I did. A German girl was sitting by me and she kind of stared at me lol. It was a good time. I only wish that could have lasted in Vikings! The lecturer had a ton of issues with his powerpoint and the internet so he kept trying to explain how the Viking boats worked (I don't understand the obsession with the boats) and he would stop and say "Does that make sense?" and we would all just stare and then he would say "I thought not" and laugh lol at least he was good natured. I enjoyed the charades. Later in the day I worked on my essays with Kelsie in the kitchen and we had a good time sharing misery stories. Then I went to lidl with Mina and we had a lot of fun grocery shopping together lol. She was talking about making this tasty chicken and spinach dish for dinner and apparently I kept asking about the gravy and potato casserole she makes. Lol it's my favorite and I was super happy that she made it for me! We had a good time cooking together with Toni and Jo in the kitchen. Watching Mina peel potatoes is one of the funniest things... I helped her out though lol. We all had a good time talking in the kitchen and eating with Johanne and her friend. At one point we lit the candle in my pumpkin and it was so cute :) We literally sat in the kitchen for like 3 hours... it was great. Then I went to union with Kelsie, Bri, Zoe, and Lindsay. It was pretty crowded in there, so we ended up sitting in this awful corner and people kept walking by and looking (or blatantly not looking) at us. At one point I was impersonating James in his famous "Regi dances to Mamma Mia" youtube video and I was doing the fist pumping motion and some guy walked by right when I was doing it and I was randomly looking in his direction and he smiled and waved at me lol... I think he thought I was waving at him. I suppose a fist pump can be mistake for a wave lol...

Oh and the title refers to the dirty romance novel which Zoe Proudfoot will write. Lol we came up with the title when Bri's sister, Faith, had friend requested all our friends but us. We are now friends, though. :)

Minx

Jo cooked an amazing dinner for my flatmates, the Bulgarian boys, and I on saturday. She made breakfast for dinner and it was totally legit! We even had maple syrup! I nearly cried lol. It was absolutely hilarious hanging out in my flat with everyone (in my onesie), and helping Jo cook. Then I got all princessed out. I'm not going to lie, the princess idea was really great until you realize that Snow White was actually a tart... lol. I went in to the kitchen to show Mina, Toni, Jo, and Johanne my outfit and the Bulgarian boys just started at me. Then Momo said "are we your seven dwarves?"... lol we joke around but he knows that I can actually high kick him in the face if I really wanted to. It's actually an accomplishment since he's over 6 feet tall :) At the other flat, Kelsie, Zoe, Bri, and I all felt stupid together. Literally Kelsie's outfit was called "Saucy Cinders" LOL. We only went to union, but we definitely got lady ball points (I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned the lady ball chart before actually... oops) for walking to union with a definite lack of clothing. Kelsie and I were the only ones who wore crowns and I absolutely loved it! Besides the hookerness of the costumes, we all looked pretty cute together. Then our other friends started joining us and we felt less stupid. Martyn had a full out Batman costume (literally an exact copy from the movie that he ordered special) and it was hilarious to see all the random people walk up to him and ask to get pictures. I went to the toilet at one point and an asian girl stopped me to take my picture because I looked "so pretty". Lol so we had an interesting night to say the least. The dancing was great at union for once, and I was really excited when my Bulgarians and Johanne showed up later. They ended up going to town with Jordan, though, but we still had a great time hanging out. It's always fun to be standing around outside and get salmoned or have some weirdo guy dressed as a "vampire hunter" (I think he looked like Neo from the Matrix, actually...) introduce himself and kiss your hand. But, I really loved the funny decorations at the bar and the inappropriate dancing was fab. My group of friends and I were absolutely ridiculous because we are those people that dance like maniacs and belt all the songs. We had an interesting rendition of Living on a Prayer. I really love drunken shenanigans... but I'm not always a huge fan of Bri's premonition. At least I know I looked attractive. The number of creepers at the bar was unreal. Eventually we were all kicked out of the bar and I kind of ran home lol.

Our clocks went back an hour on Sunday, so I ended up waking up kind of early. I got some work done though, which was great. Then I hung out with Mina, Toni, and Johanne in the kitchen. We made brunch (french toast with syrup!) and exchanged stories from the night before... they always laugh at me and say I'm such a player since people try to talk to me and I run away lol. The three of them had a really great time out in town with Jo, and I'm kind of jealous. They have this hilarious picture with a guy dressed exactly like Jesus... literally he looked boss. They also found this great club in town called Exodus that plays great music, like Teenage Dirtbag and System of a Down so I definitely want to go out with them this weekend at some point! I went to Bri's flat, but everything was very sad over there since Kelsie had gone home that morning and Lindsay was out of town too... and Zoe didn't come around until like half 3. So Bri and I had some quite time in the kitchen while we planned decorations and drank for our Halloween party. When Zoe finally got her lazy bum over to Bri's flat we went to Morrisons. The three of us had a good time hanging out... even though there aren't any gummy worms in this country and Bri had a little freak out lol. After shopping I made pasta for the my flat family plus Jo. They all seemed to really enjoy it and it reminded me of the pasta my family makes so I was happy. Later that night I hung out at South House with some of the guys, Bri, Zoe, and Jo. A lot of people went home that weekend so we ended up just staying there for a while before going to union. Zoe and I played fifa on Andrew's playstation and we were absolutely horrible at it. Andrew and Callum enjoyed laughing at us and trying to yell directions... it was all very confusing lol. At union our group kept growing as different friends kept appearing out of nowhere. It was pretty great. It's always a lot of fun to catch up and make fun of people who had ridiculous weekends. That's how you know you're really getting comfortable with people lol.

Monday definitely didn't feel like Halloween... although I did wear my cat ears most of the day and I listening to the Nightmare before Christmas and Rocky Horror Picture Show soundtracks to and from class :) it was a very pretty and fall feeling day, though. I actually had a conversation with a girl from my tutorial about Halloween and that got me pretty stoaked lol. On the way to my Arthur class I was looking around at the King's campus buildings and admiring how awesome and halloweeny they look when out of no where two people walk by me. I immediately recognized them, but had no clue where I knew them from. All three of us looked at each other and the two people gasped, got really excited, and looked at each other. As I walked around the corner of the building I heard the guy call "LYDIA!" and I knew exactly right then why I recognized them. They were the strange people who pulled me aside after I sang a song at karaoke at the union back in the beginning of the semester and told me I was their hero and thet they thought I was amazing. Lol it was pretty funny. It's a good thing I was in a hurry to class, though. I wouldn't really want to stand around and talk to some people who could be acting like complete dicks. My lecture was pretty interesting, though. We are getting in to material that deals with Arthur as the great king with his knights so it reminds me a lot of the Mists of Avalon which is an amazing book. But it was hard to concentrate in the class since it now gets so dark so early and all I could think about was going to Bri's flat and carving my pumpkin! I had a great time carving my cute little pumpkin. It was very homey feeling to reach inside it and pull out all the guts and seeds and smell the pumpkin-scent. I had a great time lol Zoe and Lindsay kind of looked at me like a crazy person, but I didn't care. After the pumpkin carving, I helped Bri and Zoe get the party stuff together. I love the balloon arch I made lol and the food turned out kind of ok, too. The vodka gummies were ridiculous, though. The gummies must be different here, because after soaking in the vodka they find of all congealed in this weird gunk. You could pick up an actual gummy but it was all gloopy lol. Bri, Zoe, and I tried them all together, but Bri was a jerk and didn't tell us not to chew them so Zoe and I nearly gagged as we ate these gross tasting semi-solid things. They really weren't that bad if you could swallow them whole, though. That was the first bit of advice we gave to anyone who ate them later lol. I went back to my flat and made some quick food and got all princessed up again. Jo was over getting ready, too, so I didn't feel like such a partier compared to everyone else in my flat. Lol they all just laugh at me... but I know for a fact they enjoy my silliness! Jo and I went to Bri's together and we all had a great time hanging out all costumed out with our group. Some people had absolutely ridiculous costumes on. Silly pictures were taken and people were forced to eat the vodka gummies lol. It was absolutely crazy when Kelsie finally came home! Once she got into her costume we all went to union and then caught some (free!) cabs in to town. Only a smallish group of us went to town, but we had a good time at tiger, tiger. Jo and I danced like crazy people, like usual. We actually ran in to the Bulgarian boys there which was really surprising! I saw a very menacing, tall person sitting in the corner with face paint on... I can't believe I recognized Momo. That could have ended very badly for me lol. But we hung out with them for a little in the club before finding the rest of our group. The drinks were really cheap, but they came at a pretty high price. You had to stand at the bar for way too long and be pushed up beside strange people... the drunk strange type who try to steal your crown. I would have roundhouse kicked someone if they stole my crown! Violence wasn't called for though, thankfully lol. There were a ton of people in the club and we stayed until it closed. It was a pretty good time. But walking around in town and then waiting in the taxi line was awful. We first went to McDonalds so some people could get food, and it was crazy in there. There was an actual bouncer at the door lol. Then we had to wait for ages in the cab line and it got pretty cold. At one point Jo put on my crown and she was wearing it for a while but then it fell and a few of the jewels fell off. I may have cried a little about it lol. But we have the pieces and can definitely glu it back on, pheew. We finally got a taxi back and I went to bed. My warm blankets never felt so good :)

I slept like a dead person last night. Literally I didn't get up until 11:30 lol. But I made it to my lecture and lab just fine. My physical chemistry lecture was actually pretty interesting since we have a new lecturer. She always grades my lab write up and I like her a lot, so I'm glad that she's lecturing us now. My lab actually went really well today, too. I never felt so composed and fluid while working with solutions before. It was amazing. I was actually complimented for my efficiency and speed. Literally I was pipetting, titrating, and composing solutions in just a few minutes. Since the lab was about reaction rates, the reactions in the different flasks were timed and in order to accurately measure the extent of the reaction you had to follow a certain time frame while quenching and then titrating the solution. At one point one of the reactions was measure every 2 minutes and I was pipetting, quenching, and then titrating like a boss lol. It felt great :) but what really didn't feel great was how dark it got outside before my lab was done. I nearly walked through Seaton park, even though it was completely dark. I took a few step inside, definitely heard some person saying weird stuff, and ran the other direction. I had to take the long way home, but I was literally freaked out. I wish they would put lights in the park. But thank god this week was my last week of really late lab so I won't have to worry about that anymore. After I finally got back to Hillhead, I stopped in Bri's flat for a little and talked with Kelsie, Zoe, and Lindsay. Then when I finally got back to my flat I found a cute little note from Mina explaining how she thought we should take it easy tonight and order pizza. That was a wonderful idea! Mina, Toni, Johanne, and I had a great time sitting in the kitchen, stuffing our faces, and drinking pop. Mina was so excited for our pizza night, she was like skipping down the hall lol. They all thought it was so funny how I call soda "pop", but I can tell that they will eventually start saying it, too. We were all nursing some crazy food babies after eating, though lol. Since I drank a ton of pop I was feeling extra disgusting, but in a good way lol. We were talking about movies (especially Up lol) and it makes me sooo happy the Johanne and I share a love for watching Jane Austen movies. She was watching Persuasion (the really good, older one) and we started quoting it at each other and talking like how they do lol. We are ridiculous. After eating a ton, I went over to Bri's flat like usual and we went to union for a little. It was just Kelsie, Bri, Zoe, and I but we had a good time. Everyone was pretty tired though, so we decided to come home early. I also think everyone is depressed since it's already november! I can't believe how quickly this is passing by. Before I know it I will be back home and looking at my pictures and feeling like this was just another dream. Kind of like how I feel about living in Siena. A wonderful dream. I hope these friendships last, though. I feel really close with everyone here.
