Wow so a lot has been going on in the past 24+ hours... I met all the people in the Arcadia group (there are 14 total, 5 are going to Aberdeen lol) and everyone is really nice and we have been having a great time together. Besides a lot of orientation stuff dealing with all practical issues, I've been out and about with friends just sight seeing and having fun.
Yesterday I walked all over in the Old City to see all the really good sights and take some pictures. It was of course really cloudy and windy as hell but I still had a great time just immersing myself into this city. Then I met my roommate who is studying in Aberdeen with me (yay!) and we had orientation stuff together and met the two other Aberdeen girls, who are the exact same type of nerd as me and just as silly. The other guy who is going to Aberdeen actually goes to Wooster but he is pretty quite. I remember seeing him in a few classes, but I don;t think he has any idea who I am... lol. But anyways we all had dinner together and got to know each other a bit. Then after dinner Jordan, Bree, Allie, and I decided to go out on the town and find this pub that Bree's friends recommended. We found it after just a little bit of random walking through the city lol and we had a great time there! The pub was exactly how a pub should bee with wacky Scottish patrons, worn wooden tables and bars, and a creepy middle aged man who decided to buy us first a teddy bear then drinks and then talk with us well into the night. We got free drinks and some good laughs and memories out of it so it worked out really great... unti he asked us up to his flat and trued to persuade us to go out and sing for Jordan's 21st birthday (which is today, yay!) lol so we kind of walked off away from him and ended up walking in the complete wrong direction for like 20 minutes and promptly got lost in a random part of the city with a ton of houses. Fortunately a younger Scottish couple was out bicycling at midnight last night (???) and came to our rescue by calling us a cab b/c we had wandered so far out of the way. The funny thing is none of us were really drunk but we just wanted to walk around and explore lol but we got home safe and sound :)
Today has just been crazy busy with all sorts of orientation stuff with Anna and Hemish. They are both really nice, there's just a lot to know. We talked about traveling, what to expect in Scotland, Scotland through movies (Braveheart is not a historically accurate film lol), homestays, weekend activity trips, and all sorts of other things. During our break Allie and I got lunch and walked around and we had a good time seeing some sights and hanging out. Its really nice to have a friend to be with.
Lots more has happened but I'm tireddddd!
